camper Posted November 27, 2023 I recently looked at the list from "Game Informer's Top 200 Games of All Time". I see that it’s mostly console players who rule it. I don't play console games (except "duck hunt" with a light gun, but that doesn't count), I have other priorities (ZX Spectrum, IBM PC). And you? What is your priority list of 10-20 items? 2 Share this post Link to post

mrthejoshmon Posted November 29, 2023 God damn I hate making these lists, because even with 20 slots I have played so many great games I can never decide what to miss out. Hard to quantify, and in no specific order: Deus Ex Total War Medieval 2 Total War Warhammer 2 (3 kinda sucks dick) Dawn of War Quake 2 Duke Nukem 3D Fallout New Vegas Armored Core 2 Serious Sam 3 F.E.A.R Half-Life 2 Morrowind Saints Row 2 Yakuza 2 (mainly Kiwami) Monster Hunter Rise Devil May Cry 5 Halo Reach Spyro 2 Timesplitters Future Perfect S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Share this post Link to post
plums Posted November 29, 2023 (edited) no real order, not thinking too hard: Doom 2/idTech 1 games Quake 1 Quake 2 UT2004 Thief 2 Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup Alien Soldier Blasphemous Gothic 1 Gothic 2 Salt and Sanctuary Spelunky HD Landstalker Tetris (various versions) Worms Armageddon/WWP Jupiter Hell (lots of changes since I last played) Silent Hill 2 King of Fighters '98 The Last Blade 2 Tactics Arena Online, an old Flash/browser game that doesn't exist anymore An interesting thing about Doom and similar games is considering whether or not the modding scene affects its list. I don't think there's a "correct" answer, just opinion. But I wouldn't put Doom or Doom 2 in this list if it was the base games only and the whole user-made wad scene never existed. Heretic would probably still make the cut though. It's also interesting to consider games I liked when I was younger but don't play anymore. Landstalker for the Genesis was a fantastic game for its time and I played it many times over, but I haven't tried it in at least 15 years and I don't have much reason to play it these days. I still put it on the list though because of how much I liked it for so long. 3 Share this post Link to post

It's okay, there's no limit here. I was thinking about my list yesterday and I exceeded it to almost 30. 0 Share this post Link to post
