xit-vono Posted April 23, 2005 Those demos are wicked man! Good job Drew. 0 Share this post Link to post
Vegeta Posted April 24, 2005 For the map30 thing. I'd love to see that theory in practice, but I don't think the revenant rockets follow the player once his dead. That, and technicaly, the Boss Brain doesn't appear in the monster count 0 Share this post Link to post
Kochipahk Posted April 24, 2005 Nobody can beat Map02 pacifist? On UV? Time to get to it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted April 24, 2005 People have certainly tried, and it has been shown to be physically possible. There are TAS demos, but pa02 is just a really horribly difficult run non-assisted, and it would be a colossal luckfest. In other words, an unrewarding experience. Essentially, wherever you see a blank in the compet-n tables for an iwad map in one of the main categories, there is a pretty good reason. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted April 24, 2005 TAS pa02 is at http://www.doomworld.com/tas/pa02x031.zip specifically. (More at http://www.doomworld.com/tas/) 0 Share this post Link to post
GuntherDW Posted May 5, 2005 sorry for digging this up, but what is 'pacifist' style? 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted May 5, 2005 Pretty much what the name suggests: "don't deliberately cause damage to any monsters", but here is a more precise definition from the compet-n FAQ:UV Pacifist: finishing the level as fast as possible, in Ultra Violence, with the following restrictions: not harming monsters directly (no shooting at, chainsawing, boxing monsters), not harming monsters indirectly (exploding barrels that hurt monsters, activating crushers that hurt monsters). Allowed is making monsters fight each other and unintentional telefrags. 0 Share this post Link to post
