Around sunset at a local state park. On one side of the sky was a shadow cast by the oddly-shaped cloud (on the other side of the sky) in the second picture:

Here's a panorama:

Don't recall seeing this sort of thing so clearly before. Obviously the sun needs to be very low on (or just below) the horizon and the clouds need to be arranged just right.

Yeah, but a year later when you need nails, you'll never remember where you put them. And then you go to Ace and tell them you need a box of 3" wood nails, and you swear you just bought another pound of them last year, but you can't find them. And then they give you that weird look.

So you follow them down the aisle, and then they'll have such sights to show you.

It's an improvement over the vomit inducing shit he used to post which was basically cartoon child porn. I am frankly shocked he is still here.

At first I saw you quoting Ozcar, and I thought "Well, they've never posted any really bad images, and I can really only think of one person off the top of my head that posted things like that", then I looked at the original post. "Yeah... now Murdoch's comment makes sense."

Anyway, I should post a random image. This is a picture of the Leonardo figure that I donated to the library where my Aunt is the Head Librarian. If the shirt looks weird, it's because I piss-poorly edited out the town/address of the library. I'm paranoid like that. But it's such an adorable picture that I stumbled across while going through old files that I wanted to share:

I bought it back in 2017 when I was working at Toy's R Us. The left arm was damaged during shipping, and his katanas were broken, and we kept trying to sell it but couldn't, so eventually it just ended up in the back room because nobody wanted to buy it. We were doing huge markdowns on excess merchandise at the time, and it was marked way the hell down, and it still wouldn't sell. I couldn't stand to let it be shipped back and probably destroyed, because I love the Ninja Turtles, even if I prefer Donatello, so I ended up buying it at 90% off, so I ended up paying around $5 for it. Most of it was fine, but with a broken arm and no swords, nobody wanted it. And the figure is kind of huge, it's around four feet tall.

So I bought it, and I realized I have no place to put it. I asked some coworkers that had kids if they wanted it, and they really didn't; it was just too damn big. I told my Mom about it, and she suggested maybe my Aunt might want it for the library. And she did, she thought the kids would really like it. So I fixed up the left arm as well as I could, a bolt and some washers made it so that it would stay attached but moveable, replaced a few missing screws on his shell so that it stayed on; and he ended up in the library that I spent plenty of my time in as a wee lad. They love dressing him up for holidays, and he's usually out front and center to greet the kids. I'm really happy about that; hearing stories from my Aunt about kids running in and hugging Leonardo really melts my heart.

Yup. I completely lost it when the sicko posted an upskirt of a cartoon girl who looked maybe 12 years old at best. He's on my blocklist for that reason but the block doesn't do enough to erase his presence.

That's adorable, Jello. Good to hear he's making some kiddos happy instead of heading for the landfill.

I typically hate conspiracy theories and the amount of effort that goes into making them work, but I kinda want to read one where X billion of these were produced - invested in, not mistakenly - for pachinko parlors nationwide and that's the reason Sega went tits up in the Dreamcast era.

Yeah, agreed. There are plenty of places on the internet where you can go to look at that. Doomworld just doesn't need to be one of them. We jest about impse and the cyberdemon having amazing glutes, but it really doesn't have a place here. I've seen plenty of things on the internet, I'm really not shocked by anything at this point, but you would think at some point people would learn to read the damn room and stop posting what they're posting.

And I tend to not block people, even if I want to, because then I'll miss something that will be talked about and I will have no point of reference. Although even if they're blocked, I suppose if someone quotes them it still shows up in the quote. But yeah, with some of the things posted, I'm amazed they haven't gotten a suspension at least.

I still get a kick out of some of the pictures I get of Leonardo dressed up. They've put a nice Santa outfit on him for Christmas, bunny ears for Easter. I'm really happy that he went to a good home. And it was around two weeks after I delivered him to my Aunt, and they had time to figure out what to do with him, that I got a text from my Aunt. The first kids that came in the library and saw him exclaimed "It's Leonardo!" and they ran up and hugged him. Anything to encourage literacy in children is a great thing.

As for the downfall of the Dreamcast, I will have to take some credit for that. I was very dismissive of the Dreamcast versus the N64 and the upcoming Playstation 2, and I said as much to a schoolmate who was obsessed with Sega. I told him in 2000 that the Dreamcast would fail, it was too little too late, with the Playstation 2 on the way, and Nintendo's upcoming console not far behind. They entered the war too late, and the Dreamcast would tank the company, they would end up making third party games for Nintendo. I've always felt odd that I predicted it that way, despite the fact that I have no paranormal powers that would've influenced it.

But if Sega was concentrating on making ash trays for pachinko lobbies, then they deserved it.
