Oracle is a 2.8GB installation. The temporary installation files are an additional 1.3GB, and the zipped files are really no smaller. So that's really 5.5GB of free space that I need just to install.

So lately things have been between exciting and boring. I got the packet of information from the Illinois Institute of Arts yesterday, a few days earlier than they said I'd receive it. Looking through it, I was amazed at the stuff. It's a bit overwhelming, really. They had some facts in there, and I found out that starting salaries for Graphic Artists (Game Design falls under that catagory) usually start out making $45,300 a year. Like, woah. I'll be doing alot more with my life than alot of people I know will, and makes a feeling of greatness. It also came with a course outline of what I'd be doing for each quarter and everything, and then a bunch of other info. Next week I have an appointment with Mrs. Hendrin (my former High School counceller) to see about scholarships and funds and stuff like that. This whole thing has me so excited and looking forward to life. For once I have a direction, and think I'll beable to enjoy my future, and I'll beable to make friends like myself and actually get to hang out more than once a month.

I'm trying to decide a way to lose weight. I've thought about a low-carb diet or something on the order of that I dunno. I was watching the food channel today and the show on there was called "Low Carb and Lovin It", and he claimed to lose a ton of weight, as well as his family. Hah I feel really weird typing this into this journal, I'm actually talking about health stuff. But hey, atleast I'm not gonna endanger myself with it or get carried away. The way I see it, a person can be healthy and watch their weight and everything with getting completely carried away over it and end up annorexic or giving up meat.

Also I found my 1st Ed. AD&D Player's Handbook, Deities & Demigods Manual, and 1st Ed. Monster Manuals yesterday. It's kind of funny to look at the stuff in them. The artwork is old, but still god...in a way.

Tommorrow night Lance said something about coming over which would be cool. I think I'm gonna proxy up most of what I'm missing because all the stuff's on the way. I have three T2/Standard decks under construction right now. The closest to being done is Mono-Red, however the most realistic of being done first is my Mono-Blue even though it's farthest from complete. The Mono-Blue seems like it'll be the funnest. Yes, I in fact did dub the soundtracks to swf animations and burned them as audio tracks. Recently I found out that a couple of my friends completely memorized the lyrics and more to several songs such as the Picard song, Don Quijote Marijuana, and well they were already singing Po-Ta-Toes over the phone long before I burned this cd. Now with this CD the usual drunken (not the driver of course) car ride singalongs have reached new levels crackheadedness. What really spurred me to put the cd together was from when my friends were blaring the Incubus (last bit of final track of Science album, starts at 12:30 I think) and System of a Down (last half of final track of Toxicity album) stuff, over and over and over again, in Wildwood, New Jersey, when there were crowds from both Irish Weekend and a car show at the same time.

I have now proceeded to burn Asswakcrakhammer Overdose vol. II which contains:

Our server is down. It has been since Friday. There were multiple excuses given as to why-- everything from plain old lag to "the registry being wiped clean and we have to rebuild the registry".

I talked to people with names like Yugi and Ivan. They all gave me the same bullshit over a new feature that every big company likes now called Support Chat. Support Chat is a sign of the Apocalypse, in case anyone's wondering.

Late last night an e-mail was sent out to all clients, including us. The owner of the webspace(our provider doesn't even have his own servers) decided to take the $60,000 the company earned over the past few months and run with it. In effect, the servers are shut down, and the company who provded them to us is currently looking for new management. We were forced to find a different host, effectively shutting down our own operations for the time being. We can't so much as retrieve the data and see how extensive the damage is until the server is back up. Our clients are getting frustrated since they haven't been collecting data for the past five days, and we're swamped with support calls-- this'll probably be a huge net loss as we also have sales & presentations lined up and are in the middle of a limited license proposal... fuck, man. Guess where this offshore company is located?

This is a depressing glimpse into offshore laws and repercussions to outsourcing. Hey, wait a minute... if we can't so much as sue them for negligence, it's only fair that they can't sue me for slander when i say the company I'm talking about is called HOSTDEPARTMENT.

Whenever I'm feeling down, I put Kid A in my CD player and just keep it on repeat. Ironically, it's a really depressing-sounding album, but for some reason it makes me feel a lot better when I'm upset.

I'm curious before I spend $20.00 of my money on a Street Fighter controller, possibly either one of the following:

Ken
Ryu
Chun-Li

I'm not sure if anybody has one of these, but I need some feedback about them if you do. Maybe a little poll about which one I should get could be helpful by design.

Yep, I turned 21 today (5th...it's already the evening here). Can't believe I'm this age now, as it feels rather odd to think about it. Meh.

Celebrating was pretty cool. Yesterday I had lunch with my friend Branden at a very good German restaurant in Kyoto, walked around there for a while, and then went to see the new Godzilla movie. It was opening day for it, so it was quite cool.

I spent most of today, my actual birthday, with my friend Jo. We hung out for a while, talked, worked on homework, and then went out for dinner.

When I get home, the girl whom I keep alternating between being in love with and attempting to deny it says she has a present for me. Can't wait to see what it is. OMG, MAYBE SHE'S DRESSING UP AS MY FAVORITE ANIME CHARACTER FOR A NIGHT AND IS GOING TO PLAY VIDEOGAMES WITH ME FOR THE NIGHT!!!

Err....*ahem*. Yeah, that was my birthday. Quite fun overall ^_^

Yes, I in fact did dub the soundtracks to swf animations and burned them as audio tracks. Recently I found out that a couple of my friends completely memorized the lyrics and more to several songs such as the Picard song, Don Quijote Marijuana, and well they were already singing Po-Ta-Toes over the phone long before I burned this cd. Now with this CD the usual drunken (not the driver of course) car ride singalongs have reached new levels crackheadedness. I've been having my goals set on making a new site for hosting at PlanetDoom, but before doing so, I wanted to learn css, or whatever. This my first site that I 've done without the need of a wysiwyg editor...

Anyways, I spent two days learning about css and here's my shitty result

Another grand night at the Commodore Ballroom. I thank the fellow who bought and renovated it. Alot of bands love playing at a nightclub venue. It's quite grand, facing the huge stage, with a massive dance floor, behind you is a bar, above is the balcony with another bar. To the left is raised seating with another bar, and to the right is more raised seating with, YOu guessed it! ANother bar!

The concert was average. The opening band Himsa, was terrible. The moshpit was full of straight edge dumbasses, doing ninja jumpkicks, and flailing their fists around like morons. They don't believe in killing brain cells, yet they act as though they've killed all of them. Go figure. I guess it's a positive lifestyle, but they ruin moshpits. Next up was Bleed Through. I heard and liked them prior to the concert. They do a mean cover of Guns & Roses "Rocket Queen" which they didn't play.

They were good, again more straight edge ruining the pit. No biggie though, I was up in front away from that stupid shit, occaisionally punching any straight edge idiot whom decided to fly into me with their retarded ninja kicks. I have a total crush on Bleed Through Keyboardist. She's very sexalicious. Next up was Arch enemy.

The pit was the way pits should be. Pushing, shoving, throwing, people flying, great stuff. The pit was fucking amazing. The band on the other hand, they should shoot their guitar tech, as you could only hear one guitar. They only did 6 songs, which was bullshit as well. Pissed quite a few people off. They played less than HImsa and Bleed Through. Some straight edge fellows tried to mosh in their special way of moshing during arch enemy. They didn't last very long, I had this one idiot in an AFI T-shirt jump kick into me and he started flailing his arms. So I decided to express my disdain by punching his stupid ass in the gut a few times.

He immediately left the pit and stood there in the front line and watched. Other straight edge were getting put in their place pretty quick so they ended up moshing like normal people, or retiring from the pit or watching ringside. I can't say I'm suprised by the poor quality of Archenemy. They're notorious for canceling shows and fucking up.

Then finally the filth spilt onto the stage for an hour and 20 minutes. ANother 20 minutes should've gone to arch enemy. But bleh, Cradle was alright. They had projector screens with images of topless women, and pentagrams and flaming baphomet and other strange shit. The Vocalist, Dani, came out sputtering all this shit about this and that, some anti American slogans and then they played the tunes. It was average. I really had no desire to mosh during Cradle. I thought they'd be capable of putting on a better show than that. Nevertheless during a moment where it was silent I bellowed out "Jesus loves you!" The lights turn up, and quite suprised and shocked, Dani says "What the fuck was that? C'mon Vancouver make some noise!" He also wanted all the women in the room to remove their bras and throw them on stage. Not even one bra for poor little midget Dani. Well he's not a total midget, but he's only like 5'1.

It was also ironic that the Commodore had all these christmas decorations out, for this Satanic metal band. It was weird show, it had hardcore straight edge, punk dummies, Metal heads, goths, and freaky wish they were satanic Satanists. Wow wee. Oh well, what do you expect for a tour involving the three letters M-T-V? I got pics and video, but no room on my stupid crap hosting. I really need new hosting.
