  1. I contributed those old status bar numbers but I didn't make them. I got permission from the creator which I'm pretty sure was Chrozoron which matches up with HR2. http://doomwiki.org/wiki/Hell_Revealed_II So I probably took the assets from the beta..
  2. $500 is pretty inexpensive if the visuals and head tracking are good, I'm glad Carmack is investigating this, LCD panels should be good enough now to make it happen.
  3. thanks for making that gif, the new projectile looks pretty good IMO

  5. apparently you might be able to get it to build using express edition if you strip the MFC dependency from the project, detailed here: https://bugzilla.icculus.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5290
  6. cant get this to compile under visual c++ 2010 express edition.. gonna wait til someone makes a better package
  7. You've spent a lot more time creating midis than me so you might already know this, but I'll say it anyway: Vanilla doom didn't support midi format music, it was called mus format. I think Boom integrated a util called mid2mus into the engine so that you could put actual midi files into the wad rather than running the conversion then putting in a mus lump.

  9. Freedoom chose the BSD license so that people could use parts of it, even in commercial projects, without worrying about copyright infringement. This does cause consternation sometimes but I'm personally fine with it.
  10. That's pretty good. Advanced Genetics & Machinery would be a plausible name for a company that may have assembled the (non-freedoom) Cyberdemon.
  11. An enterprising Palm Pre hacker by the name of Sargun has gotten the PRBoom codebase to run successfully on the newly available device. There is a YouTube video embedded in his blog post showing the Pre running the port with Freedoom resources.

  13. From the Macworld article: Doesn't sound like a rails shooter at all. Macworld also removed the trailer at id's request, so whatever you guys were watching wasn't intended to be watched by the public.
  14. but they're $10 million dollar assets!!
  15. as someone who has been a spectator to doom community drama for over a decade: i am so utterly unsurprised.
