  1. The Tunnel Complex

Not much more than a typical PWAD. If you can find maze, there are deadly traps within. Beware of the switchs you push. One sec- ret is really hard to find. Another clo- ses after you walk through a door (which closes too- to mask the other). The others are in plain view. The hard to find one has a really cool effect in it. Also, can you find the hidden arena?

  2. Die, bastards!

Just kill'em all and get the hell out of there! ...look for the exit carefully, it's there somewhere, not hidden or something. Keys also not behind hidden doors like some a**holes tend to do.

  3. Sixareas.wad (six areas wad)

A wad based on six separate areas that lead from a central room. The entrance to each area is marked by a number on the door. The level can be best solved by following the doors in order. In addition, there are 34 new graphic elements (most in the status bar). See if you can find them all.

  4. Sewer Control (release 3)

It seems a bunch of demons has invaded the sewer control system, and have plans to flood the city with raw sewage! After a bit of straw-drawing, you have been sent in to get rid of them. Unfortunately, they could only find a pistol to arm you with. You think it'll be easy. You wish. --- Changes in release 2: Too many to count, with almost every room in the level being altered in some way and the addition of some completely new rooms. Areas which have been given significant revamps are the water channel, the switch maze and the technical corridor. Changes in release 3: Added a tag number to the teleporter instead of relying on the landing being the only one in the level! (This did seem to be working, but it was horrific practice.) Rebuilt nodes with BSP. Reformatted .TXT file. Changed filename to SWRCTL/WAD, to bypass the RISC OS 10-character filename limit.

  5. Space Base

A pretty average (not to mention   small) WAD, except for the starting area. I think the start is astoundingly original, but then, I made it. (If you want to know more, play the WAD!)

  9. Satan's Lair v1.0

You're trapped in Satan's home turf. He watches you as you struggle to find a way out and he laughs at all your attempts to escape. At every turn, his band of ghoulish fiends try to make your stay as unwelcome as possible. And finally, if you live to reach the end, you will confront Satan himself along with all his minions worshipping him at his altar. Can you overcome the onslaught of evil, the over- whelming numbers of hellish demons and monsters, and Mr. Evil himself: Satan? Come, find out for yourself. Step into Satan's Lair. |-(

Well having that said, I made this wad file for blood and guts shoot 'em ups. You'll find all the weapons and ammo you need plus a lot of other goodies to fight all those hellspawn critters. Because this file is a little on the hefty side, you can't save any part of the wad file. But it's a do-able level if you pace yourself and take note of where all the goodies are. So kick some hellspawn ass and enjoy! :-)

  12. TRENCH.WAD

TRENCH WARFARE! An incredible DEATHMATCH adventure. Hunt down your buddies in an intricate maze of trenches, while seargants and imps shoot at you from above. Watch out for baddies in the trenches too. No, we didn't overload the level with bad guys, they are just strategicaly placed. Remember, this is a WAR, not masacre. FOR MAXIMUM ENJOYMENT, TURN RESPAWN ON! The level will run out very quickly if you don't. Trust us. We have play tested this for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours. : There is a cooperative exit for multi-player, and a simple one for single player. Oh, and have a good time, all the time. : Did we mention that you should turn RESPAWN on? doom -file trench.wad -respawn

  14. STAIRWAR

A single room map, with all of the weapons, and tons of ammo, and a whole horde of monsters. A pretty big challenge for a player to finish (the beginning is pretty rough) in a single-player game, but I can do it, so you should be able to as well! =O). I've never tried it with > 2 players... It's kind slow with multiple players until you kill off most of the monsters, and then the speed improves (this is on 486-66 Mhz machines with 128Kb cache) The theme: The world's longest marble staircase!

To play this wad file, run: doom -file stairwar.wad

If you can't solve the level, I've included a demo of me solving it (stairwar.lmp). Only look at it as a last resort, it spoiles everything! To play the demo, run: doom -playdemo stairwar -file stairwar.wad

  16. Skull Hall

Marine Private Sparks having completed boot was on a short leave. While touring the countryside with his sweet baby.....Babs, he chanced upon the Sarge's secret Hole-in the-Wall. Armed with but a revolver Sparks brought that house down! Recovering from wounds incured he got id in his skull that Special Forces was his calling...he had to forget about Babs...poor girl. None had seen her since his heroic though foolhardy attack on the Sargent's lair. UAC did find a lock of her hair.....bloodied. Something hadn't felt right during and after his Special Forces interview with Sgt. Magnus. The sarge, though posesser of a sparkling military record was somehow...illegitamate. So said Sparks gut level feeling. And why did he persistently break into mindless laughter? Sparks was, of course, admitted to SF training. He passed but not before sustaining some rather severe "hard to explain" injuries. One night, quite late, while recuperating Sparks logged onto the UAC BBS to check e-mail and there id was a brief cut-off message from Babs..." Magnus is one of them.. a mindless HellBeast, DON'T " and that was it. Babs was alive and Magnus was Hell Spawn! Unbeknowst to Sparks, Magnus had him under constant surveilance. Before Sprks logged off that night Magnus had trumped up new orders for him. UAC had been working on time travel and had maxed out work with animals. They now needed a human "volunteer". A few electronic manuvers by Magnus and the Time Brigade from UAC was hustling their volunteer Sparks to the transport pod. Will Sparks survive the transport? Where will he be sent? And if he survives how will he get back to give Magnus his due and maybe, just maybe be able to pull Babs close once again and whisper those sweet nothings in her ear!

  18. SNIPE99.ZIP (snipe99.wad, snip99e.txt, snipe99.lmp)

This level was originally a small deathmatch concept, but needed some additions to improve playability. This level is moderate in size and has been designed for 2 Player Deathmatch. It also plays well as a one player episode. There are a few hidden doors, but they should be easy to spot. Two teleporters. A hidden exit, but it is revealed fairly easily. Monsters are copious in UV, and there is a spiderdemon. Not too tough to get though, because of the location. View the .lmp to see basically the entire level in UV. (Apologize for my performance as I only had the keyboard at the time) (doom -playdemo sniper99 -file sniper99.wad) Comments, criticisms very welcome.

Great WAD, solidly nails that fantasy castle crawling feeling, not too rough on the player nor overly stingy/generous on supplies, encourages good use of items, plenty of navigation and switch puzzles as is apt for Heretic, but also lets loose with a little slaughter.   Some areas could use slightly brighter lighting, and sometimes the next switch or door isn't signalled too well, but overall a fun and feisty fantasy fight fest.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.
