Mafia round 3 - DAY 4 = Town Victory!

A night without action benefits the Mafia so I'm inclined to vote Rush although this bandwagon scares me a bit as it could be the Mafia who are causing this. So why did you vote for Rush Pure Hellspawn?

Whoa, this is going way too fast for me to be comfortable. What's with this bandwagoning on RUSH? We have a number of people who have not had votes laid on them, so this sudden bandwagon seems very suspicious, especially with three mafia agents in play.

So, all four of you, provide for me some amount of reasoning behind such an early bandwagon, please? I have reads on a couple of you, and a range of suspicions, but I find day one bandwagons very dangerous.

I think it's just the mentality that Rush was first to vote, so of course, without knowng much, I simply voted Rush under the fact he voted first and could be going for someone's innocent hide on the get go. Call it "Round Start Paranoia". I honestly don't know at this point, but flubbernugget's shit-list sounds like he's readying up future kills, so he has my suspicion as well, but I'm not sure if I want to switch votes or not.

@Membrain - There is no information to go on. I do not intend to go another first round without a lynching. That being said, I'm bandwagoning on Rush to see how he defends himself (which he hasn't really at this point).

My vote could've been just as random as GreyGhost's, but bandwagoning puts the pressure on fast and makes the player give a response (or not) that I can go off of. Should evidence arise that someone else looks guilty I won't hesitate to switch my vote.

The problem I see with day one bandwagoning is that we put a lot of pressure on one person during a time when pulling everyone from the woodwork is necessary. Also, keep in mind that a good bus on day one will leave us with two mafia agents that can just ride the game out if they are crafty enough when their teammate is lynched. Because of this, while I definitely support a day one lynch, I also would like to see more discussion before we all get carried away.

In light of this, I want to avoid any situation where someone could be bum-rushed before everyone has made at least a few posts. Therefore, I'm going to go after stewboy. He's always been a bit on the quieter side, so I'd like to know what sort of reads he's getting from all this.

Nope. It's always random, so this is an entirely irrelevant justification. You are correct on the bandwagon, which I disagree with, but remember that early votes are often changed, since they are made with the intention to pressure rather than kill.

Krispy looks like he's trying to keep a consistent personal metagame going. Otherwise, I see no reason why he would be acting so much like mafia. The only basic justification I could see would be to claim he was trying to keep the mafia from night killing him by always playing an "easy" lynch, so they keep him around to jump on late game, when mafia members are more likely to be lynched. That's a really difficult gambit to pull off, so I'd not recommend it, especially if he's town. Otherwise, he's more likely to get lynched early on just for the sake of protecting the town. (Being an anti-town townie is almost as bad as being mafia in terms of the eventual win.)

Doominator2 and General Rainbow Bacon's lack of participation should be raising some red flags as well...

Well up until recently it seemed that two people had yet to confirm, so they could've been those two people. Not everyone gets to post on a forum every day.

There's a 21.4% chance for a newbie to be mafia, if there's 14 people and 3 of them are mafia, and mafia memberships are given at random.

I'll stick with my current vote, even if it was a little rushed, and Membrain & flubbernugget do seem suspicious with their planning and lists.

Let me say that I am an unimportant role, so getting lynched over shit-slinging isn't that big a deal, especially this early in the game. It's a tactic I've been using on epicmafia (you'd swear I'm advertising their site but these damn mafia threads have me hooked), but I will admit with a little bit of hindsight this may not be a very satisfying tactic for a mafia game of a significantly slower pace.

We're not supposed to edit posts, but I forgot to add this. Membrain and I have been the most skeptic of players in both past games regardless of our role.

I don't see any reason for a non-mafia player to vote for himself. Until we get further clarification from him, vote Pure Hellspawn.
