Do I have to unlock the area first? Or is it available upon inserting the first core thingy?

I wanna ogle the funny little arachnotron toy I found, but I can't find where the collectible toys are kept. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

It's not an ACTUAL GC controller, but I figured it'd be better to just refer to it as that. Really it's a third party USB pro controller from PowerA. I did, every other button works fine. It's just up and down on the c-stick that refuses to bind to anything.

I'm gonna keep this short: gzdoom won't let me bind up/down on the c-stick to anything, and by c-stick I DO mean the GameCube one. No one needs to know WHY I'm trying to play gzdoom with one, all I need to know is how I can bypass that issue.

One of the only recent memory ones that comes to mind for me is Golden Souls 1 or 2. I have yet to beat 2 but 1 was nothing short of a masterpiece. It's rare to see anyone implement a good amount of platforming into their wad.
