IMJack Posted January 28, 2002 We have to wait five years between when we can drive and when we can drink. Five. Long. Years. Of course, two years before we can drink, we're old enough to be tried as adults in court, and old enough to be drafted by the Army. It's perfectly alright for the government to get you killed before they let you drink. 0 Share this post Link to post

Sharessa Posted January 29, 2002 Amen. Unfortunately I have to turn 18 in about a month. That sucks because I can't act like a kid anymore and now I'll get tried as an adult...I never got busted for anything when I was younger. I guess it means I can vote, but then my vote won't really count because most people are complete idiots. It also means I can get drafted, which sucks. It means I can get porn, but I already can get plenty of that. I can but cigs, but I don't smoke. I can play lotto, but thats not much of a privilage. I hate responsibility. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lüt Posted January 29, 2002 It also means I can get drafted, which sucks.Hmm? The US is drafting again? 0 Share this post Link to post
IMJack Posted January 29, 2002 You guys got it all wrong: I'm nineteen. I got my lisence(sp?) two years ago. I'm just saying: DL at 16, Selective Service and trial as adult and vote at 18, smoke at 18 or 19, drink at 21. Oh, and a lot of you people are assholes, in case you didn't already know. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted January 29, 2002 It also means I can get drafted, which sucks.Hmm? The US is drafting again? No, but they could, and that would suck ass. I'd rather kill myself than fight for a fucked up country like the U.S. Most likely, I'd either run to Canada, join the Coast Guard, or shoot my foot off. 0 Share this post Link to post

dsm Posted January 30, 2002 I'd rather kill myself than fight for a fucked up country like the U.S. Most likely, I'd either run to Canada, join the Coast Guard, or shoot my foot off. Clever boy, the first option in the quoted post is what I'd do, if I was going to be sent to war. Because war is the closest thing to Hell in this world. Like Gen. Norman Schwartzkopf once said: "War is Hell" And about smoking: I don't see why so many people smoke. I mean, come the fuck on, it tastes like plain smoke and smoke tastes like shit! Besides, it makes you damn unpopular if you smoke in a crowded room, or in general, around non-smokers like myself. 0 Share this post Link to post
IMJack Posted January 30, 2002 A little moral question my old man once posed to me: When your country drafts you, it means they need somebody to fill that slot in the military. If you somehow manage to dodge the draft, they're gonna get someone else to fill that slot. And if you somehow gained the knowledge that the guy who filled your slot got killed because of it, what then? This is my opinion: If my country needs me, I'll be more than happy to serve. 0 Share this post Link to post
