Any Doom-related dreams?

Had a dream last night where Skillsaw was trying to hit on/sleep with my girlfriend. Really. I have no idea what Skillsaw looks like but my brain does a thing when I dream, that probably happens to other people, where a person in a dream can "be" someone without looking like them, even if it's someone that you know well and know what they look like. Anyhow she was upset so she took me into the bathroom to hide with her, no idea who's house it was, and then he kinda like dug through the floor(?) to find her, and was getting upset because the secret exit to map32(??) was on a timer and we were going to miss it? Dreams are weird. (don't worry @skillsaw I'm not blaming you lol)

 

There were also some more traditional Doom activities, a lot of imps in a cavern, don't remember much about that part.

If you have ever played Map01 of Ancient Aliens you will have skillsaw set a pleasent mood for you, drug you, then face fuck you with a cyberdemon. Not surprising he's showing up in dreams.

I once was on this small bridge, I fell into nukage and got killed by a specter. It was a gray room, and the bridge was jagged and as thin as those in the chasm.

Once had a dream where my friend revealed he was gmanlives. I tried getting to watching his video but the dream ended. Funny thing is, I never watched gmanlives, I just heard of him.

I had a dream where Decino was playing a huge open-area map that looked as if it came from Ancient Aliens, it looked like Stonehenge in an oasis.

I had a dream where I got suspended from doomworld twice, but I realized that wasn't a dream. 

 

I forget a lot of my dreams, except for the ones which I die at the end. Anyone else die in their dreams?

I just woke up and realized two things.

 

The good news: the Minecraft recreation of my NaNoWADMo 2023 mod was not actually ruined by a huge amount of decorative TNT getting lit up and me being unable to access admin commands in time.

 

The bad news: there's no such thing as a Minecraft recreation of my NaNoWADMo 2023 mod.

A texture pack, a data pack, and probably a bunch of dark magic as well.

 

I have successfully incorporated ideas from dreams in doom wads a couple of times (MAP12 of Imperfect Hatred and new MAP31 of Three's a Crowd, specifically) but 99% of the time the "cool doom levels" I see in dreams are either really dumb ideas that seems good for no reason, or completely impossible things.

One time I dreamed someone made a Doom mod where you play as a Dragon, not Guncaster, no, it wasn't a anthropomorphic dragon, it was a dragon-dragon, think Spyro and such, and you could like hover while jumping and fly and shit, it was cool, Dragon was a 3D model and in third person too

Another time I dreamed that a sequel to the Lambda mod for Doom was released called Lambda 2 (original, I know) and it had Half-Life 2 weapons instead of HL1 (again, I know) but also had NPCs and enemies and I was playing it with Obsidian levels and it "felt like a completely different game"

there may be more, I'll see if I can find any or remember any.

At around july of last year I dreamed this exact room, except that it was part of PRCP's map13 for some reason? Anyways, I recreated it as best as I could and made a map about it that I never ended up releasing.

I frequently have Doom and Halo dreams. Literally just playing videogames in my head while I sleep lol

Plenty of Doom dreams from me too. But unlike the game, the dreams are usually horrible with a terrible sense of dread.

 

One time, at night in completely deserted streets, I had to hide in an empty house upstairs from a Cyberdemon. The bedroom window was so low, only a foot off the floor and I had to lie in front of it completely still, pressed as much as I could against the wall.

 

I could hear the furious footsteps, the exact thunk noise from the game, and knew the agitated Cyberdemon was stomping right outside the window in the dark looking for me, with only a streetlight for light. Looking in through the dark room to see me and I had to be perfectly still millimeters from it's sight.

 

Really horrible actually and no fun. Many more dreams too, revenants have appeared and I flipped off a mancubus in hubris, infuriating it Brutal Doom style. Archviles in a huge deep underground cavern facility. More and more...

 

Even a pair of Evil Marines from Scythe showed up one time, even though I've never played Scythe. I still remember what the rooms and areas look like. If I ever get round to map making, I'll recreate it.

 

All the best stuff is inspired by dreams.

Half a month ago I had a dream that I was playing co-op with some guy on some super-duper popular map that no one had yet been able to beat 100%.

And we couldn’t either. 

 

We made it to the exit, although the counter indicated that there were still tons of enemies on the map.

 

And then I accidentally discovered a fake wall, behind which there were rooms made of TEKWALL4 and there was a SHITLOAD of barons and hellknights with revenants!

The only Doom related dream I've ever had was a couple years ago where I dreamt about what Eternal's gameplay reveal would look like. It was on Earth and there was a Metal Gear lookin' type mech or something roaming around.

I've actually had several Doom related dreams... 3 of them stick out the most tho.

 

#1: I was playing a very short map where you enter a very dark cave, with a few goodies placed on small ledges up the walls. After some turns there's a teleporter and when you enter it, you're teleported into a giant, completely black room with a massive skull texture (I'm talking like, 5 times as big as the icon of sin face) at one end of the room. After about 15 seconds, the skull lowers and you hear hundreds of demons, including a bunch of Cyberdemons coming from behind the skull. Shortly after, the room is filled with endless projectiles. There didn't seem to be a real way to beat this one.

 

#2: Basically just a slaughter map with wooden textures all around that starts out relatively normal, but after you get the BFG, walls start opening everywhere, revealing hallways and rooms full of Cyberdemons, Mancubi and other tough monsters. The amount if Cyberdemons is absurd, there's small rooms with like 30 in them. As far as I remember, this one was beatable tho with the right positioning etc.

 

#3: I don't remember much about this one, but I remember that I played a pretty messed up wad. Again, the maps started out pretty normal looking but roughly after the first 20 maps, the maps started to look more and more corrupted, like they're just random assortments of shapes and colors, as if the files were corrupted / damaged. The one that sticks to my mind the most is one of the final maps just being a veeeery long, wide hallway that keeps descending and keeps getting more narrow as you travel down. The only monsters here are singular zombies in random spots. The hallways also aren't just straight, some walls are diagonal, are colored very strangely with pink, red, yellow colors and there's no actual exit in most of these later maps. It was somewhat disturbing playing this in my dream. 

Another one of these final maps was just a tiny room with nothing inside it, but if you check the automap, there were like 30k monsters but they're nowhere to be found.

One time I had a dream of a map where I started out in a small room with the circuit board texture and a super low ceiling, I then dropped onto a giant pillar in the void. When I landed a wall infront of the pillar opened up to a group of Zombiemen, Shotgunners and Imps. I might recreate it someday

endless blur incoming: in july i dreamed that i was in class at school and i was on the computer playing doom 2, i was playing some kind of unknown prototype, it was a level where you navigated on reasonably thin and high walls of green marble, it was vaguely labyrinthine even though it was in plain open, you had to keep your balance on those walls to avoid falling down in the blood or lava while you were progressing

it used a little bit of height variation and sometimes walls sinked to reveal important areas often defended by chaingunners standing on the walls and lost souls floating around, they were the only two types of enemies used in this and lost souls were the most frequent, they were often in flocks over the small sea of blood/lava around you

you had to use explosive barrels strategically placed on the damaging floor to kill the lost souls when they got close to it, but the barrels took more bullets to explode and were slowly setting on fire to help you time the explosion, and the level was using a starry night skybox

the layout of the level felt to me like being based on the blueprint of a fortress even though it wasn't one at all and was visually very barebone, the progression was pretty complicated and i died several times, and each time i looked up over the screen to see what the class was doing and it always seemed like there was something very important going on but i persisted

a very powerful collision glitch between me, an explosive barrel and a lost soul throwed me miles aways outside of the map and i suddenly found myself in an unknown SNES rpg that used mode 7 and the same starry night sky as the doom level, and the map of this game was based on the exact layout of the doom level i was playing, as if doom was entirely built over this SNES rpg prototype buried deep within the walls that delimited the level

i was in awe and i woke up, the end

Two additional DOOM movies were released, and they were apparently more faithful to the games (DOOM 2016/Eternal series). I tried to buy them, but I guess they sold out pretty quickly. At least one of them had a SteelBook release with a cover that had an overall pine green color scheme. Bafflingly, the movie had a blue M rating on the cover (the equivalent of the US PG-13 rating).

I have vague memories of a dream about a Doom level that does not exist, yet, maybe.

 

It was years ago, details are spotty, but I remember an orange sky to red cloudy sky (with mixes of pink between the clouds, real cartoon arid desert sunset shit). It wasn't particularly filled out (or I'm forgetting it) but I believe it was mostly sandy environment.

 

There was a ramp that led to an area with pillars that had a cyberdemon fight you from a pyramid that had an indent in it (for the cyberdemon to stand on). Egyptian styled textures.

 

I do not remember much but the striking visual of a pyramid with a cyberdemon against the orange, red and pink sunset sky sticks with me and I want to bring it to life one day, the sky was a very Spyro PS1 skybox style (see something like Dr Shemp's skybox for example) and the textures were realistic styled orange/light brown stone mixed with darker brown bricks.

 

Again, striking image but not much else is remembered, granted my dreams are usually a string of hardly connected nonsense so it could just be that one shot.

Damn, I just had a dream where I was the Baron of Hell being experimented on by humans in some laboratory.

 

At some point I got tired of their fuss and I freed myself.

I had a cybernetic arm and a black... trenchcoat (?) for some reason. That was cool...

 

People ran back and forth in horror, but I didn’t care about them. At some point I came across Archville, who turned against me... Well, I ran up, knocked him to the ground, stepped on his chest with my hoof, tore off his arm and began beating him with his own hand.

That was a bloody mess, sheesh.

Last night I had a dream where I get to fight against a baron with my fist in a techno base. (Compwall & blue floors)

 

It went wrong very quickly (I cant remember in what way but I assume certain parts of the room corrupted), so I quit the fight to inspect the map. For some reason the baron room wasnt even a sector (like in the editor its a enclosed shape without a floor texture). I remember I fixed it but I dont know what I did next. Dreams are hard to memorize.

 

I watched zero master's E2 uv max run last night so I guess it's related to that?

 

For some reason recently Im having more dreams than ever. Dont know why.
