Linguica Posted August 19, 2001 QDOOM has been released! Go and get it, damnit. Remember, send in those Doom pics! (img) 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted August 19, 2001 why not apply some brightness to this pic? it is BLACK on my monitor... 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Excalibur_Z Posted August 19, 2001 I still don't remember Quake being quite so brown. In some parts of QDOOM it's hard to tell where you're supposed to go because you can't see some hallways and stuff unless you use the automap. 0 Share this post Link to post
Afterglow Posted August 19, 2001 I don't understand why Marc didn't instead use Doom's textures for some walls... for instance, the brown brick in this room. Doom has the exact same texture, but better quality, optimized to the palette. I long ago sent Mark wood texture replacements but he still used the Quake conversions... doesn't make sense as the textures he used make all the levels look really murky - ie: doesn't look good, even in GL. Pixelated annoys me. :/ 0 Share this post Link to post
Kojak_Man Posted August 19, 2001 Not too bad, other than the elevator crash in E3M2, the EXTREME slowdowns caused by the rain effects, and the fact that it's impossible to maintain movement control in the final battle, but other than that, nice job. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Fanatic Posted August 19, 2001 It all looks great on my PC. Depends on what video card and driver you have, some look good, some don't. BTW, if anyone can send me more info on the elevator crash or PC lockup issue, please do! I need to know if it happens in GLEDGE32 or EDGE32, and what your OS is (Win95/Win98/Win2K/WinXP/etc). I don't have a problem here, so I can't reproduce it. For the slowdown, pass -noextra to turn off rain and ambient sounds, that will help some (e.g. qdoom.bat 3 -noextra) 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Rhoq Posted August 19, 2001 I'm fortunate enough to be running a GeForce3 on a 1.3Ghz Athlon, so rain and stuFF is all smooth for me! I just can't wait to try out this card on Doom3...hehe. it almost makes me giddy. 0 Share this post Link to post

Cory Posted August 21, 2001 Awesome.. the only problem I have is I die in the cage at the beginning of the showdown level long before anything happens :/ Is there a trick (other than iddqd)? Why exactly does my health disappear in the cage? 0 Share this post Link to post
