What should I do? 

I wouldn't know myself as I am sort of in the same boat as you, I imagine what you could do is try joining groups or taking parts in community projects if you have the time and dedication for it, start off small and slowly wiggle your way up, join a couple of newbie projects perhaps and make contacts that way?

I'm not entirely the best to ask for this as I'm kind of an outsider myself, maybe join another forum and see if you fit in there?

I'm in other Doom Communities and I participated in Mayhem 2020. So no a solution. :/
