Memfis Posted February 4, 2014 Hi Doomworld, I made a new limit removing map, what do you think about it? 0 Share this post Link to post
Marcaek Posted February 4, 2014 Nice little map, felt almost TNT-ish for the first half. No complaints, although I didn't go secret hunting. 0 Share this post Link to post
paymentplan Posted February 4, 2014 Ah, it's quite good. The platforming elements were a fun way to backtrack through that big room with the hell knight. I appreciated the weapon progression. Starting with the chain gun was a bit of a departure. Most of the maps I play hand out the shotgun first. From a gameplay perspective I really enjoyed it. Visually, though, it felt a bit scatterbrained, but nothing too glaring. 0 Share this post Link to post
ArmouredBlood Posted February 4, 2014 Horrible FDA. Despite failing hard at staying on platforms that shouldn't be that hard to stay on, it went ok. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted February 5, 2014 Hey Memfis, here you have a -complevel 2 FDA from a keyboarder who normally doesn't do FDAs because he sucks. :) http://filesmelt.com/dl/contifda.lmp Nice and well-flowing map, I liked it as usually, plus I am glad that I completed it without deaths for the first time. Platforming is all OK with me, actually enjoyed it here. The music really adds to the experience (as usually ;)). Haven't found the secret until I launched the map for a second time and cheated, and it was a cleverly hidden secret, good job! 0 Share this post Link to post
Obsidian Posted February 5, 2014 Yeah, scatterbrained definitely seems to be the keyword here. :P Also, you might want to make the outer area inaccessible, you can get into it from the blue key lift. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted February 5, 2014 Spoiler Obsidian said: Also, you might want to make the outer area inaccessible, you can get into it from the blue key lift. No, you fool! It's for a reason! 0 Share this post Link to post
j4rio Posted February 5, 2014 You should stop with these random maps to prevent some undesirable cacoward entires again. FDA. 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted February 5, 2014 The quality you expect from a Memfis map. A lot of fun to blast through, with interesting little tricks and ways of getting from A to B. The MIDI fits the fast paced theme of this map. I wall humped the intro room like a moron for a minute until I realized the silver stairs are actually there for a reason. The Blue Key lift was cool - Also, 2 red keys? I guess there's no harm done in having a spare key in case the doom guy drops the other one. Long-short: Play this fuggin map, you fools! 0 Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted February 5, 2014 I stole the key room from Marswar MAP17, except that one had like 10 times more keys of each type. Good wad. 0 Share this post Link to post
Phobus Posted February 5, 2014 Fun map here - pretty small with some non-standard, but still intuitive, progression. Good job! 0 Share this post Link to post
vdgg Posted February 5, 2014 Outstanding. Especially the layout, especially in the room with a hell knith. Could be a bit harder, or maybe I was in the mood of being "ready to die" :) When the blue key rises, there is a HOM, maybe unavoidable, for a 0.05 sec: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/wojtunio/continue_zps6371b02e.png 0 Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted February 5, 2014 Yeah, that HOM is because I couldn't figure out how to make an invisible moving sector. (in newtrava.wad there is a similar HOM) But now I know thanks to this thread. 0 Share this post Link to post
Walter confetti Posted February 5, 2014 doke anyway, FDA: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1238865#post1238865 EDIT: is a cool, short and tricky map, with lots of cool "vanilla" special effects 0 Share this post Link to post
Plut Posted February 6, 2014 Nice oldschool map, but so short again :(. Liked BK platform and the PG secret with a big field. FDA - http://filesmelt.com/dl/Continue_Plut_FDA.lmp 0 Share this post Link to post
Xaser Posted February 7, 2014 Continue? Of course you should continue making these, because these are great. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest Posted February 7, 2014 Really neat map. Classic and fun. Unpredictable but beatable. Good stuff. 0 Share this post Link to post
