Did you try pressing the reset button? The third platform should move if you press the fifth button, maybe the voodoo doll that controls the platform is stuck. I have an idea on where he is stuck, so I thought about a way to simplify the voodoo dolls stuff that should also solve this kind of problem.

Ok @Niloquì. Here we go with some feedback.

First of all, this is a really solid designed map. I love most of the secrets, and all the details all around. Plus real creative setups and lots of variety.

Now, here are some points I want to address:

1)This is just to confirm, but, there's no finish point yet, right? because if it is I'm totally blind. Lol

2) There are two errors I've spotted:

  • There's no way to kill all enemies on medium and hard mode, These guys never break free for some reason. (screenshot 1)
  • Plus there's a leaky texture here (screenshot 2). That stuff is usually solved by drawing a sector containing the zone.

3) This is about one particular secret:

On the cacco hell room in the red keys area, the small green button can be easily missed, and, considering that is a multi-layered secret, plus you have to deal with all that fight. I'll change it for a bigger one, or try to highlight it in some way. 


4) here's my biggest complaint:
Combat wise is kind of unbalanced. The difficulty is correct for the spot, but no fight feels that right.

  • The first fight is not bad, is simple and lets you observe the map, my only note about this one is the monsters behind the wall on the teleport puzzle. They are almost harmless but awkward to kill. 
  • About the maze area, I feel that at least a couple of revs of an archie could spice things up a little bit, and rise the stakes for the rest of the level.
    The yellow zone is my favorite one, really good stuff.
  • Now the red keys zone is weird to me. the puzzles are really cool, but the battles are a lot all at once and there's nothing forcing you into the area. so it felt overwhelming and boring at the same time. (especially in contrast with the rest of the map, which is very tame in comparing), and the same goes for the big cacco cloud.

No, I still have to put the finish point (and also a true starting point).

The enemies cannot teleport because I used a SR action instead of W1 lol. It works now.

I play using OpenGL and the texture is normal there, so I didn't notice it. Anyway, I changed the shape of the sector and it's fine now.

A lot of enemies are placed just as a reminder for myself that I want enemies there, so that's why it is unbalanced. I also need to put more ammo and medikits, but for now I will focus on the outside area since the starting and the ending point will be there.

Hey @Jakub Majewski! of course, you can. Do you prefer any particular spot? (bear in mind that can be altered on the final WAD)

A wild ride so far.
 

To be honest I'm more than surprised by the amount of traction this project manage to drive, especially being my first time trying to host one CP.
So I want to thank everyone involved for all the work done so far.
 

For this update, I want to begin giving news from my end.
 

First of all, I'm working a lot on the graphic design for the project.
Cover art/special screens/custom textures for the Credits map, etc.
Here is some of that. ALL FEEDBACK IS WELCOME!

My job has been a bit intense this past two weeks, so I have been a bit tired for mapping on my free time. So there haven't been progress on my end.

 

Also, initially I drafted a big layout that has me on a creative slump, so I think I will go for something small to at least deliver something.

I haven't done much, I've been doing things other than Doom most of this month. I finished implementing the line actions for the fourth puzzle, but it didn't work, probably because I chose the wrong action. I need to decide whether to switch the action or to implement it differently.

Used 4/6 secrets, got a little stuck in adding two last secrets to fit them organically and do not confuse the player completely. But i think one-two days of inspiration will solve this issue on their own.

Finished prior CP mapping obligations. Still got a good idea for my map and will start playing with the texture set.

I'm still on board!
I haven't added anything to my map for a while due to concentrating on 4 other projects with much shorter deadlines and on IRL things. But don't worry, the time remaining is more than enough to finish off the final areas of my map!
