BluePineapple72 Posted March 20, 2016 What are you favorite aternate versions of songs? (Example, live versions, cover versions, different genre versions, different speed, etc.) Personally I like Queens fast version of We Will Rock You: http://youtu.be/Jooer8liGE8 0 Share this post Link to post
Hellbent Posted March 20, 2016 basically all the yt comments are right on point. Also good and made popular by the film Garden State. This is a cover of Such Great Heights by The Postal Service. I had trouble finding the studio version of the Iron and Wine version so here is a live version: 0 Share this post Link to post

Stygian Posted March 20, 2016 I love YMO. There are countless different covers of Rydeen including a cover in an anime and the first Touhou game kind of plagiarizes it a little. 0 Share this post Link to post
kuchitsu Posted March 20, 2016 Yeah, Tong Poo also sounds kind of like some Touhou song. Don't know the name, never played the games. 0 Share this post Link to post
deadwolves Posted March 20, 2016 Lady Gaga vs. Meshuggah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfOddwK7x3E It's old, but it's a nice version, combining two boring musicians and getting something listenable out from it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted March 20, 2016 As if the Allman Brothers original wasn't amazing enough, Zappa managed to up it yet another notch. This is how I like my covers - True to the original, with a bit of their own flare, but it's immediately recognizable. I'm not a big fan of covers that make the singing all shitty and different or whatever, like that one "pop version" of You Sexy Thing from a couple decades back.. *shudders* 0 Share this post Link to post
plums Posted March 21, 2016 PJ Harvey - Down By The Water, solo autoharp + drummachine version. Very stripped-down and sombre. 0 Share this post Link to post

RUSH Posted March 21, 2016 Razamanaz. The original is by Nazareth from 1973: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpeI5Z4vO-4 And in 1990 Artillery turned it into a metal song. Awesome cover: 0 Share this post Link to post
Royal_Sir Posted March 21, 2016 I love the Disturbed metal remake of Tears For Fears' Shout. Tears For Fears: Disturbed: Also Gregorian did an awesome job at Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams. 0 Share this post Link to post

Doom_Dude Posted March 21, 2016 The versions of everything Iron Maiden did on Live After Death. UP THE IRONS! One of my all time favorite live albums along with Rush's Exit Stage Left. Benny Goodman's version of Sing Sing Sing. The 12 minute version recorded back in 1938. The Jeff Healey version of Stardust. and Van Halen's (Oh) Pretty Woman. 0 Share this post Link to post
