  6. SpaceDM9

SpaceDM9 is a set of smooth-flowing deathmatch maps with a combined focus on open-ended gameplay, grand architecture, and unique, modern settings. Built for the Skulltag engine, these levels are designed to take full advantage of the ZDoom software renderer and UDMF editing features.

This wad is, at the time of this writing, not compatible with OpenGL rendering. Use software, or stuff's not going to render right! Seriously!

(I know no one reads text files and people will try playing it in GL anyway. But seriously, come on, guys.)

(Don't try playing it in ZDoom, either. The jump physics are different, and you'll find it exceedingly difficult to navigate some of the maps without dying.)

Also, in case you missed it above, this requires the 98e alpha build 3120 (or later) of Skulltag to run properly. Earlier versions will make S9DM03 largely unplayable due to a flag-setting bug in netgames.

  13. Dynamite Deathmatch 1.1

A pack of 11 Deathmatch maps of varying themes. They're pretty much maps that I've accumulated over the past year, so the quality isn't as consistant as I'd like it to be; but I suppose it doesn't really matter. I just hope you guys can have fun with it.

  17. Thirst for Blood v2.0

This is my first map DeathMatch. I am not an expert in the creation of maps, however, believe that the end result pleases the fans of Doom.

    Some features:

    1) There is only 1 BFG and 1 PLASMA GUN in the game!

    2) Put on a platform with the rune RESISTANCE. (huahuahauahuahuah)

    3) I added a platform with the item RANDOM POWERUP.

This last there was bullshit! ;-)

  22. 8 Bits CTF

    Robotron 2084 revenge, be warned!!!

This is intended to be a set of rapid Catch the flag maps. Some maps are standard and normals, but most are played very quickly. Best experience when set with a time limit instead of score limit.

WARNING READ BEFORE FRAGGIN'! A very small percentage of individuals may experience epileptic seizures when exposed to certain light patterns or flashing lights. Exposure to certain patterns or background on a monitor or while playing video games may induce an epileptic seizure in these individuals. Certain condition mey induce previously undetected epileptic symptoms even in persones who have no history or prior seizures or epilepsy. If you, or anyone in your family, has en epileptic condition, consult your physician prior ro playing. If you experience any of the following symptoms while playing 8bitDM -- dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitches, loss of awareness, disorientation, any involuntary movement, or convulsion -- IMMEDIATELY discontinue fraggin' and consult your physician before resuming play.

For some reasons I didn't replaced any sounds, because it would make the file bigger and not necesseraly better. There's a limit to respect in modification, since retro games were little i must keep it little.

Great WAD, solidly nails that fantasy castle crawling feeling, not too rough on the player nor overly stingy/generous on supplies, encourages good use of items, plenty of navigation and switch puzzles as is apt for Heretic, but also lets loose with a little slaughter.   Some areas could use slightly brighter lighting, and sometimes the next switch or door isn't signalled too well, but overall a fun and feisty fantasy fight fest.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.
