wad is ugly, but the combat definitely gives the Hell Revealed vibe (this was before HR btw). a bit overdose on shotgun guys and revenants, and sometimes the layouts are wonky, with at least half the wad being mostly DM layouts. at the very least this is a Christmas-themed MW so that's cool.

There wasn't much new graphics, and levels were crude representations of what they were supposed to be. So aesthetics-wise, this wad is lacking and doesn't have that much of a "Christmas feel". Gameplay-wise, it overuses Revenants, has some hitscan hell parts, and there's absolutely no sense of difficulty progression with outright schizophrenic difficulty. I still had some fun though and some of the levels were neat. A decent pick if you're looking for an old school wad, but very lacking by modern standards

IMO it's done just enough Xmas spirit to not overwhelm the DOOM game (I don't want a Xmas makeover like the Simpsons one). So for that, it's brilliantly done. Does anyone know where did the "12 days of christmas" come from because this version is perhaps the BEST I've ever heard, using a key transition to keep it fun!

This one is legendary, I used to play it a lot in coop. the design is not so good but the gameplay (the fun!) is definatly there 4/5 - PerOxyd

I admit, now, it seems really cheesy. However, when I first played this, I thought it was awesome, walking in a winter wonderland with Christmas music in the background killing demons. This WAD has been a classic for me and my friends. We play Co-Op every December for the past 10 years. Still pretty fun singleplayer.

A reasonable wad, from 1995, it looks ok and plays pretty alright. It looks of course a little dated but for novelty value it's ok. The sprites (trees) look good but of course creating Christmas themed monsters and more textures would have been good. 3 stars cannonball

yep, it is really legendary !!! if you love to wrestle with billions of Revenants, here you go ;-) in deed it is challenging, good textures and just fine stories and action. Classic-must-have-in-your-doom2-directory - wad ;----))))

You'll always find this in Doom servers around the holiday season, Even if it doesn't have the best maps ever made, it's friggin' H2H Xmas. Legendary WAD.

It's technically very crude. The new graphics are very poor and the voice samples are... eccentric. There's a spiral staircase on level three that's horrible. But it's fun to play, so four stars; it's like a kind of crude punk Christmas wad.

I liked the mod (except for some maps which are God-awful), it doesn't bring Christmas feeling, however. Also, most of the custom textures look awful. (Not sprites, however)

This pwad is simply awesome!!! Very challenging. The spirit of Christmas is only in the graphics, not in the gameplay (which is terribly efficient)... Anyway, it's a must for our collection, and not only because it was "Revolutionary for its time"!!! 5/5 - Jive

      I guess this was meant to be a serious wad, just using a trick to make the C-Demon hard to see. I don't think it was a deliberate troll of the style that caught on later, eg Sand Chain and the Terry wads. IMHO it nowhere near holds the record for "worst wad ever" (even if it did once) so it is now "over-rated" in that respect. I was a bit disappointed, I was expecting worse LoL.

      Doomers these days have varying levels of patience. I know I have some of the worst when it comes to quickly finishing areas and moving on, which is why I prefer shorter levels most of the time. this particular map, a Maximum Doom map by the way, is one that completely tested my patience.   this is 8 levels long, from E1M1 to E1M8, and is sort of a proto-slaughtermap episode replacement. every map here has at least 200 monsters, and the layouts of each say that they are compact in size. so the action would be pretty good and fun right?   WRONG   while it's fun to kill all these enemies, this is honestly horribly balanced. on the first level, you only really get a shotgun and a chaingun, and it took me a while to get just one armor too. is that the worst part? I can actually enjoy the challenge of such a gameplay scenario so no. what's problematic about each and every level in this wad is that when you're not killing enemies, you're just sort of fucking around. in other words, you're switch hunting. but this is the worst kind due to lifts that have zero indications that they are lifts, as well as switches that have zero indication of what they did. not to mention some walls are triggers, when they really don't have any indication that they really do anything. oh yes, and mandatory secrets and backtracking. I would like the combat more if it gave more weapons too, not one plasma gun or BFG in sight, and all that backtracking just...fucking...headdesk. there's no reliable way to even speedrun this, to the point where I wonder if the author ever realized that other's would tire the fuck out over it. "these are the easy ones" this has all the hallmarks of a bad Maximum Doom map.   it's amazing how varied my Maximum Doom experience is so far. there are some really fun maps, mediocre but quick maps, and some long and nasty ones. I'm honestly trying to avoid reviewing any maps from there but i'll make an exception for this particular one since it's just unbelievably bad.

      More an exercise in 3-d artwork than a game. Just someone's bedroom with a HK in a tiny lobby outside the door, and a Caco in a tiny yard outside the window. A BFG and Invisibilty Sphere are also in the yard but you can't get out there. I think the name is a clue - maybe this was the start of a bigger level, then abandoned. He ought to have allowed it as a base for development.
