Some progress on a WIP new monster for Brutal Doom 64 v2.666, credits to Id Software, Midway, Raven Software, DrPyspy, DrDoctor, Amuscaria, and Sgt Mark IV as I took major inspiration from the D64 Revenant concept he made long ago on Twitter.
EDIT: oh and before I forget I'll post two D64 custom weapon frankensprites I did recently, too, credits on their images.

Ok holy shit! I just realized these fit the DOOM 64 aesthetic way more than the normal revenant sprites we have. I know this guy isn't a revenant, but give him some gnarly shoulder-cannons and we have the perfect 64 revenant! Nice work!

Would you guys rather me make sprites or just stick to models? it's a bit dark but if you guys want, I can make sprites instead of what I already make.

It is really dark, i would suggest to bring a brighter Model :)

 

And it depends, for classical Wads sprites are more useful.

Is the mod those sprites/model for using very high-contrast (i.e. white or other bright colors) textures in the maps? It's not just "dark", it's almost completely solid black. That could totally work if you're going for a "silhouette" look (e.g. Limbo), or are otherwise stylizing the hell out of your maps to fit, but I couldn't see that working at all in maps that use standard Doom textures.

Anyone know of any sprites out there that could be easily modified for an ‘Explorer’ player sprite?

 

A good basis would literally just be doomguy in a tshirt and shorts. I could just recolor for my needs. Final product would look like this but with a dumb mustache:

150skins.wad is a great source of Doomguys! My first thought was the UndeadCommando, you'd need to swap out the head of course.

I also tried a quick and dirty color remap on the NoPants guy, which is pretty amusing, but would need a lot of cleanup to avoid the green gun, and sadly the death animations get really weird because his underwear have red dots on them...

It will be Doom.  Basically Eldritch Demons and Doom Demons go to war and Doomguy gets caught in the middle.  I hope to have a version done by quakecon but that is becoming a tall order.

i like the grenade launcher graphics, but i think some of the more "muddy "details could benefit from sharpened a bit.

Here is both a remastered Rapid Fire Trooper and the missing 6 7 and 8 rotations for the OG Rapid Fire Trooper. 

Definitely wish that the other Realm667 Doom Style beastiary was updated to incorperate the missing rotations that John Romero unearthed.
