That was actually pretty damn good for a terrywad. The environments looked good for the most part, the gameplay, while a bit over-reliant on RNG abuse in some spots, is also pretty good for a terrywad (albeit insanely difficult in some spots, especially later on). Even if you don't like terrywads, this is worth the download just for the music. Holy shit, this wad has an awesome soundtrack.

You know, i always hated terry traps. They are lame, with no effort, useless. A waste of time. But this, this entertained me more than any other "serious" wad. A bunch of amazing and well made maps, awesome and impressive effects, wacky yet catchy storyline, epic bullet hell like boss battles againt's mematic doom personalities, and the best is that this wad is a big fuck you to both the haters and the horribly bad terry wads.

Nice work!

Some things : "Bwaaaah it's trap wad - NO SIR it's beatable. - Bwaaaah it's like UACMN - Check out on google before downloading a wad. - Bwaaaaaaah Terry, automatic 0 stars - Did you ever pay attention to the mapping and effort put there and put your butthurt aside your judgement for once? " Damn, this deserves the jokewad of the year cacoward nothing less.

For a TerryWAD, there's quite a bit of effort put into it. While it has quite a bit of trial and error, I found myself enjoying the weird, surreal experience that the devs brought me. While I understand that TerryWADs aren't everyone's cup of tea, I'd still recommend you at least try it up to MAP10 before actually voting. And please, go in with an open mind as opposed to joining the legions of drones that are voting it low just because of it's Terry theme and exterior.

B4NM manages to capture the spirit of UACMN perfectly and happens to be far superior than Jack's fanmade sequel. -Doomguy 2000

An extremely well made MEGAWAD with difficult enemies, well designed maps, good animation, original midis created by one man alone in a garage, great decorate enemies that simply put SkullTag's monsters to shame, epic effects, well-scripted cutscenes that weren't even worth skipping, great voice acting and amazing gameplay.

PROS:

Map design was clearly done by an intellectual with OCD.

Voice Acting so great that it puts Hollywood to shame.

Lighting effects that make the latest Unreal Engine look like shit.

Cut-scenes that put some of the greatest, most epic movies to shame.

Great, addicting gameplay that makes Quake 3 Arena seem dull by comparison.

Amazing, well designed, original monsters.

Great music that is amazing compared to the PSX Doom OST.

CONS:

Didn't win a Cacoward.

Doesn't have a sequel.

Simply a ten out of ten review from me. This is like Alien Vendetta combined with the epic book, War and Peace.

Weapons, good. maps, complex and hard but detailed. Music, nice choice. The WAD is pretty darn good, ignore the trolls down-voting this because it's terry styled. -1 star because no software compability. >:(

My opinion on this megawad is that it's a wad of epic proportions. Aside of all the stuff regular doomworlders would hate with a wad, you can't say that it's complete shit. Some of the scenes are funny, some mysterious, and (a trait I don't like) some are just fillers. There's also the large assortment of weapons, a plentyful of monster kinds, detailed maps and a funny backstory to it. What else to say but 5/5?

To the guy who said "Waste of space on archives", you can go fuck yourself because you don't have the right to decide which WADs are a waste and which aren't. The archive is for every wad, be it serious or troll. As long as some people enjoy it, it's not a waste of space. As for the wad itself, it's pretty good but it has a tendency to be very, VERY hard. I often had to savescum and cheat my way through it. Still enjoyed it regardless.

Yet another troll wad made by the GE kindergarten club, and co-author Nambona890 again gave his own work 5*. So this deserves the usual solid 0*. On-topic: this mapset is plain DooM misuse because made for provoking only, so ignore it if you think your time has even a slightly little bit of value. @ Squadallah: you didn't put effort in creating gameplay, but in annoying players. That is pathetic.

well, combat may not be so bad, but there's a surprising lack of variety. this starts off in a mostly pistol-oriented map, where you get a chaingun at the end, and then the next two maps are moderately long. the final three maps can put some of the ones from Eternal Doom to shame, with some puzzling to do, some of it actually more frustrating than I would be led to expect. there's many dubious design decisions that simply must be pointed out. the final secret area in MAP02, what the FUCK? and another secret area in MAP05 with crushers whose sole purpose is to troll you. MAP06 is the best map in a number of ways, feels eerie, has lots of things to it (oh, and lots of items for the item count for each of the maps too). but one particular switch (Linedef 4962) does not work. I actually felt more and more frustrated the more and more I played this, it wasn't challenging, but it sure got me annoyed with how things were laid out.

I have rated this three stars.

However, I feel like this megaWAD often gets overlooked despite what it is: a part of history. I came to it late, pretty much 1999/2000-ish, and was my first megaWAD personally, but I was always entranced by what I understood to be the story behind it; in a scene utterly dominated by the IBM PC-compatibles/DOS crowd and their (relative) wealth of tools, Macintosh DOOMers came together to show that they too can put together a full-length campaign for Doom II that wasn't going to let those DOS guys totally steal the show.

And they did. Kind of. With the apparently-unstable-at-best HellMaker crashing every single-figure number of minutes at times, a handful of eager mappers (including the still-active-at-time-of-writing Steve Duff), some of which were authoring their first ever maps, delivered an experience that is to me as interesting as it is varied; in terms of both experience and quality, I have to admit. There are some poor maps here (Sewers, by Jim Bagrow - I'm looking right at you) but there are some epic adventures rivalling those of TNT: Evilution, if not aesthetically (hey, some of them come close) then in length and spectacle.

What you're getting here is almost like a hidden piece of history that I feel stands proudly as an underdog with its peers. An underdog that isn't always well-behaved (many maps can be rendered uncompletable with the wrong actions taken, including one of the secret maps if you dare enter the basement without the three keys) but at its best (which is usually the maps by Rob Berkowitz or Duff himself) is an entertaining and oft-neglected slice of '90s mapping.

Well as a creator of megawad "Fucking Hexen" I could look like a jealousy ass because I didn't get into Cacowards and you did, but... Yeah, the levels look epic and the architecture is breathtaking, however the gameplay itself it too way hard. It was sometimes absurd, like... if you play as Fighter, you spend lots of time only with the basic weapon and it takes some time to get another one. In first level I had to kill thousands of slaughters only with fists. I had to fight with Zedek boss only with fists and... in the end you won't find the last weapon. Ok, it's just not quite right.
