Li'l devil Posted March 25 (edited) I started my wad journey from scratch a while ago. Playing popular old stuff currently, and I found the first 6 wads that I enjoyed. Ready to share my picks, and give them a bump, heh (although they're already popular enough). I found that I dislike ranking stuff, so I'll give everything equal scores, except PG because I found it less memorable (and because I don't have enough points to rank it the same as others). 10 - TNT: Evilution 10 - Icarus: Alien Vanguard 10 - Memento Mori 10 - Memento Mori II 10 - Requiem 5 - Perdition's Gate I will update rankings as soon as I beat other popular 90s wads (hopefully I don't give up on playing wads). PS: I know my picks are boring for now, but it should get more interesting as I keep discovering new wads. Edit: also, why is the ranking list doubled? Donowa Posted March 29 (edited) 10 DBP37: AUGER;ZENITH - the environment detail in this mod can wipe the floor with a lot of zdoom maps, the added mechanics like glass and destructible walls mesh well with vanilla gameplay, and the concepts for many levels are fun and/or original 9 Externination Day (updated version of the Hell on Earth Starter pack) - while i haven't played it with brutal doom as intended, i feel that it's the most fleshed out remake of the original doom 1/2 campaign on zdoom, especially with how its designed with jumping in mind. however, the bosses can be dry, the tanks are cheap and underhanded, and the support marines often feel like extra weight you need to lug around. 9 Going Down - vooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooore 9 Doom 64 for Doom 2 - i mostly played doom 64 instead of this mapset, but i assume it's basically the same (minus the scripting shit that d64 has) 1 TNT: Evilution - underrated, but still not great. there are many maps that i enjoy a lot (like crater, redemption, shipping/respawning, stronghold) but the flaws that people point out are definitely true 2 Share this post Link to post
