Super Jamie Posted December 7, 2012 Mr. T said:http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=79790Ah, it's infrared, that might explain it. I read in a magazine that the whole western/middle of Australia has been mostly free of topsoil and subsoil for several million years, it's just the bare regolith and bedrock of the crust poking up. Is it possible this rock is holding the heat of the daytime sun, which is why it appears on an infrared photo? It also could be all the alien spacecraft they keep out at Pine Gap. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fletcher` Posted December 7, 2012 You have been warned. Ironically, I rarely ever see my desktop so I don't know why I ever have anything on it. 0 Share this post Link to post
ArmouredBlood Posted December 7, 2012 Found this on a thread about mirror's edge somewhere. And the skyrim rainmeter skin someone configured. I think the bar skin is some old bauhaus theme? 0 Share this post Link to post
DoOmEr4LiFe Posted December 7, 2012 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/doomer4life/desktop-3.jpg I made it. It is stretched because it was made for an old monitor and I have never bothered remaking it in a widescreen format. 0 Share this post Link to post
DoomUK Posted December 7, 2012 Had the same thing for months. Normally I change my desktop every couple of weeks because I get bored of looking at the same thing, but I really like this one. I'm sure I won't be the only person to recognise the Doom-ish quality of it. 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted December 7, 2012 Mr. T said:http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=79790 Wildfires? Possible but unlikely, there's not a hell of a lot to burn around there and wildfires are one of the light sources they're filtering out. Super Jamie's explanation sounds plausible, if I wanted to test fly a UFO I'd head for a remote, practically uninhabited spot and central Australia fits the bill nicely. 0 Share this post Link to post
glenzinho Posted December 7, 2012 My desktop background shuffles. This is the current one: http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/8519/desktopwf.png 0 Share this post Link to post
TwinBeast Posted December 7, 2012 This is my real desktop, or laptop.. There's external hdd and soundcard behind the screen. The computer image changes between that chameleon and the betta fish. http://koti.mbnet.fi/jeejeeje/photos/desktop_001.jpg 0 Share this post Link to post

Jodwin Posted December 7, 2012 Why are there always so many dark and depressing desktops whenever a new thread like this gets posted here? 0 Share this post Link to post
DoomUK Posted December 7, 2012 Jodwin said:Why are there always so many dark and depressing desktops whenever a new thread like this gets posted here? Hm, so far I've only seen one desktop which could remotely qualify as "dark and depressing". Perhaps I'm just desensitised. 0 Share this post Link to post

Doom Marine Posted December 7, 2012 http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/7294/09bigi7desktopbackgroun.jpg I have a collection of wallpaper that is shuffled, and the folder containing those images are synced by DropBox. Hopefully everyone is able to see them all without logging in: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5zfsnajs6ekrio6/HJGs4CD6M8 The preview won't show as 1080p, but it will if you hit the download button on the lower right corner (while in preview mode). 0 Share this post Link to post

My laptop is basically identical, just with a second screen to the right. My music desktop looks entirely different, though. Slackware 14.0 with Xfce. 0 Share this post Link to post
