    Paul's Deathmatches

Level 1 and level 2 are respectable deathmatch FFA maps. Nothing too impressive, but certainly fun w/ a buddy and a couple bots... Very open, w/ the first map having the best flow. Level 3 and 4 see a marked negative shift in quality. Levels 3 and 4 are cramped, claustrophobic, mazelike, and difficult to navigate. Keep in mind, this is a Doom1 deathmatch mapset - so no SSG either. This kind of limits combat in the maps significantly. What's here in the first half is fun, but the second half leaves a lot to be desired... This WAD is NOT to be confused w/ the far superior 'Paul's Deathmatch' megaWAD for Doom2, by pcorf - maybe give that one a try instead. :) If you do play one level, play the first. [2/5]

    Knee Deep in Phobos

    Version

This is a remake of doom1 exclusively for doom2 because doom2 has more content then doom1 that is available. it also brings new, bigger, harder levels that when you play through you will feel the same emotions as the first time you played doom.in a addtion there will be a new boss!I already have 2 new weapons RIFLE and Machinegun! This wad is very similar to Knee Deep in Zdoom

Here are SIX new levels for episode 2. To play them you must copy the .WAD files, DOOM1-3 and DOOM4-6, to your Doom directory ( e.g. C:\DOOM ) and start Doom with the following command; DOOM -FILE DOOM1-3.WAD DOOM4-6.WAD This will add the new Wad files to your game. If you ever want to play the original 2 levels of Doom then just type DOOM at the prompt. These games can be played single or multiple players. Regular or Deathmatch. A 486 is recommended but not mandatory. I've spent a lot of time working on these levels and it is my firm belief that they do not suck. If you find them too hard, not hard enough or have any other comments I'd like to hear from you. DOOM rules. Until next time remain Driven. 5000, Andrew J Jeffries FO581@cleveland.Freenet.edu

    Heroes

Not a bad idea to include a collection of classics. I haven't recognise most of the levels (I may have missed a lot of Doom1 WADs from the old times), but I do recognise the sounds and musics. The only bad thing is that I can't see any credits/nfos of the original authors and WAD names for each level. Historically interesting for me, respectfull for the author. I am gonna download Heroes 2 now. Hopefully I will recognise more gems there..

    NEVER2.WAD

    Version

A really cool castle wad. NEVER2 is fun, and challenging in UV, but not too hard. There are some tough secrets to find, and there are tons of baddies. Death matchers should have a blast as well as singles. So what's the description? Get the wad and check it out! Compared to other 'non-linear' levels, this one is really non-linear. It's also pretty well inter-connected for DM after all the secrets are found. It features the Death Room, a cool outside area where you can jump all over the place, a multi-leveled maze type thing, and the dreaded caco-lair! No stupid switch puzzels or death traps. A straight forward ass kick'n pwad. It is basically the same as never.wad for doom1, except I added the doom][ stuff (combat shot gun & monsters) and changed 2 textures.

    DM2MUSx.WAD

    Version

Has 2 WADs that has different music for each level. The third wad replaces some music too, but only like five of them. I picked out all the songs that I knew and I also picked some songs that I like but never heard of them before (only like 5 of them). It has songs from Madonna and Micheal Jackson. It also has songs from this one group that my brother likes (and his girlfriend. That song is Level 1's music in the wad... DM2MUS1.WAD.) It has the song from Back to the Future, and some TV shows. It has a song from Forest Gump (the song at the beginning of the movie). It has the theme to Terminator 2. And there's LOTS MORE!!! Some of them are duplicates... I just went through all these WADs and MIDI files... I didn't really pay attention to what song I heard. But there are only like 5 duplicates. THERE'S A DOOM 1 VERSION OF THIS TOO!!! I MADE ONE FOR DOOM 1 AND 2. Doom1: DM1MUS.ZIP (For Ultimate Doom) Doom2: DM2MUS.ZIP I don't think I will make a WAD for DOOM 1 regular (not ULTIMATE). You still can run DM1MUS.ZIP in regular DOOM 1. You just won't hear the songs that are in Episode 4, Levels 1 - 9.

    MASSACRE 2.0

    Version

    10 downloads

There are many brain twisting PWADS on the internet where you get crazy finding your way through, or have to figure out how to kill hundreds of monsters with only six bullets. These three maps are designed to give you a happy slaughter time. There is both enough monsters and ammo, so you can realy beat them up. By the way, my maps are pretty large, so it will take you some time to get through. I tried to make them even larger but the DOOM II engine couldn't handle them anymore. I also replaced most of the SOUNDS by new realistic ones. ---> You will need DOOM1-2.WAD or DM2CONV.WAD to run MASSACRE, because of the DOOM I textures in MAP01 and MAP02. The music in MASSACRE.WAD has been optimized for the Roland RAP-10. I you happen to have a Kawai GMega LX synthesizer - like me - you should also use GMEGALX.WAD to patch the music. If you have a SoundBlaster AWE32 or just a regular SoundBlaster you don't need to patch the music. The music: MAP01: from Terminator 1 MAP02: from Thunder Force 4 (SEGA-game) MAP03: Theme from Aeon Flux Your commandline could then look like this: doom2 -file doom1-2.wad massacre.wad gmegalx.wad Be sure to load DOOM1-2.WAD before and GMEGALX.WAD after MASSACRE.WAD. I hope you enjoy my PWAD.

This is a collection of 27 Doom1 wads which have been converted to Doom2 format usind WadCat and Wad1to2. They are deathmatch wads specifically designed for 2-player DMing. They are, in my opinion, the very best doom1 wads, both in terms of playability and design. The conversion process changed some things that could not be helped, and the various doom2 editors out do not seem to let me correct the problems with ease, so some levels, such as ledgesi, may be a little different than you may remember. Nevertheless, these wads are the very best out there. When I converted them I changed all the shotguns to super-shotguns. Make sure when you play them to use the -timer option; otherwise you will not be able to exit some levels. They are, in order: madmax bigempty jhldth1 par-002c pueblo house myhouse tnplhome usqe1m1 kill church tourney hitmeinf ledgesi subway11 area8 joi-cm1 blob slapme butt trideath peace markroom phucked ledges4i markrm3 october These wads look excellent as well as play well. Manyof the top ranked wads on the DM Wads ranking sheet play well but are designed poorly; not so with these wads. I have played hundreds of different wads, and when these wads were converted to Doom2, a very important and beautiful change took place on many. You first see it in the 4th wad, but you get the full extent of it in Pueblo wad. Im sure the author had this in mind when he made it. Some notes on each wad: Madmax: this is a new wad, but an excellent start- ing wad. The music is fitting; it is a pleasant surprise, seeing as how the sounds and music come from blob.wad. You will see what I mean. Bigempty:I made some minor changes to this, but it still remains an excellent shotguns-only wad. Jhldth1: This is my all time favorite wad. Its fun to play in, fun to wander around in, and any style of fighting can be used. Par-002c: I think this was named something else originally but Im not sure what. I got it out of another wad collection as I could not find it on the various sites. The background fits the theme well, but not as well as in... Pueblo: absolutely beautiful. Well designed, originally made for a pro tourney, but never used. Unfortunately the oven texture gets pasted onto the wall of the BFG secret room in ledgesi for some reason during conversion, and other places too, but its no big problem. House: A classic wad. Nothing but fun. Well made, with weapons placed strategically. myhouse: A very recent wad, but lots of fun. Goes after house perfectly. tnplhome: Another home, wad, I made minor changes to it to make more weapons. Check out the toilet and the stove. usqe1m1: This is a college Student Union I think, and its a lot of fun to run around in, although not quite in the same vein as with myhouse. kill: Another college building wad. church: I tried to add a missle launcher to this, but for some reason the editing program wouldnt let me. But I did add deathmatch starts (which it did not previously have) and some shotguns and other weapons. Remember, God does not like BFGs on Holy Ground. Tourney: A wad created for a tournament. hitmeinf: a good arena wad, lots of fun. ledgesi: The conversion process made minor changes to make this wad not as fun (it removed the missle launcher for some reason) but it is still the all- time classic wad. subway11:Like church, this wad was not originally for deathmatch play, but the minor changes I made make it a lot of fun. You will see why when you meet up with a guy in a tunnel. area8: This wad looks neat, and is fun to play, although the strategy level is not quite to the level its design would lead you to believe. joi-cm1: Oh Joi! A small castle wad blob: This wad is the largest in the collection, but you can still find frags pretty easily. Its a good hunting wad. This is where the funky sounds come from. slapme: Another tournament wad. butt: This one has lots of secrets, another classic wad. Trideath: a good set of arenas. The dark is fun. Peace: another classic. There is a secret here which will hand you the match if you find it. Watch the lmp for clues. markroom: the classic arena wad phucked: an interestingly designed wad, annoyingly fun to play in. ledges4i: ledges's big brother. markrm3: transporters can be annoying but also fun. October: another small castle wad, well designed. When you play this wad, I suggest you put in a -timer 5 or 3 or 7 limit in it so you can go through all of them. Our floor will be using this for a tournament. Thanks to all the guys on my floor who helped with the selection process; you don't know how long it took me to weed through all the wads out there and combine them in the proper way.

The bad news is you are in hell. The good news is you have a chainsaw that never runs out of gasoline. Your problem to cut your way through hell until you find a way out. Sounds like the leadin to a TV show doesn't it. Each week watch as out intrepid space marines cut their way through another part of hell. Seeking the exit that will eventually get them out. In order to get character interaction. You do it in coop mode. Have the guys at ID software do the voices of the players with faces animated against standard doom textures. Record the action scenes from the doom wad as it is played in coop mode by three to four players. Cut between animation of conversation and the action as scene by the players to make the final cut of the show. Do a different wad each week. You could make it in your home on a strong pc with a really good interface board. Invite military people to design wads that illustrate small group tactics and weapons choice based on enemy and terrain. Invite ministers to write sermons based on the faults and vices of demons and how terrible a place hell is, and you could get both the militia, 2nd amendment people and Christian fundamentalists to tune in every week. Include a magazine sub, with a monthly disk containing the wads to be played in upcoming shows of the series, so the watchers can play through first and then compare their method of taking the wad to the one on the show when it comes up. Talk about your interactive tv. Wow, you come up with some strange ideas when you are bored. OK. I decided to write some wad files because I was bored. Day one. Trying to follow the lessons in secrets of the doom programming gurus step by step. NOGO. So, I stopped at lesson one and spent the entire day practicing drawing singleroom sectors. No changes in elevation, no doors, no lifts. The only special linetype in the wad is the exit switch. Play is based on narrow tight terrain with monsters around the corner and in the next room. The chainsaw is the weapon of choice in this terrain. Use it. Day two, still practicing drawing sectors, this time with changes in floor height and setting sectors inside of sectors. One really big abyss with lots of platforms at different heights. Weapon of choice, the rocket Launcher, try shooting the muzzle flashes of the cacodemons as they shoot at you from the darkness. If they get close enough to see them, they are almost close enough for the explosion from the rocket to hurt you. Move fast shoot hard, and get out. Day three. Practice with special sectors, doors, crushing ceilings, crushing floors, one teleport. Lines that open secret doors. Lots of no humans signs. Weapon of choice, shotgun, chainsaw, rocket launcher, plasma gun. Enjoy. Day four. Waded crashed and wads saved would crash doom. Loaded a wad from wadcat1 and removed everything but one chamber and built on that. This worked. Key weapons chainsaw, shotgun, demon fratricide and crushing ceilings. Also rocket launcher. But watch out. Day five, afraid waded would crash, so built behind the blue door sector of day 4 wad. Pretty blue scenery. Interesting surprise at end. Day six. Starting to get good. Emphasis on chainsaw and infighting. Close tight terrain with enemies coming out of the walls. Must use demon fratricide to make it to exit. Interesting use of terrain to limit cyberdemons firing effectiveness. Day Seven. Effort to maximize 3d effects of doom space. Several footballfields big terrain with four different sets of passages and chambers at different levels crossing each other. Lost souls have amazing freedom of movement due to vertical shafts. Textures used on elevation 2 so gross messed my stomach. Nasty tough vision of industrial hell. Weapons used, everything, but especially the chaingun. Day eight, finished day seven. I don't know if I will ever write another wad. This was fun but exhausting. I tried logging on to the bbs listed in waded but couldn't. Oh, well. The six days have been combined using wadmerge into one episode of six missions for doom1. SInce they were originally written as stand alone wads, they may have a little more ammo and powerups than you need, but six fairly large levels to play through should entertain for a few hours. Its better than tv anyway.

    Pred2new.wad

    Version

    4 downloads

This is technically version 2.0 of our Predator 2 sound wad, as the never-released version 1.0 was just for Doom1 (or at least carried no D2-specific sounds). Replacement for almost all sounds is included - all creature and player sounds, and most weapon sounds. Most noticeable in the unreplaced category are all chainsaw sounds. If anybody has any ideas, feel free to send them along to the e-mail addresses below. We are currently working on version 2.1, which will offer improvements over this version, mainly in the arachnotron sounds. My main comment about this wad is that it is *violent*! Profanity, guttural screams, and *loud* weapons abound. It is one of the rudest sound wads out there, and we're still trying to make it better. Berserking was never this fun!
