RockyGaming4725 Posted July 24, 2022 Small display panel reading "Warning! Security breached! Evacuate!". Meant for a scrolling texture.. based off of the COMPLOK textures from 32-in-24 (I think that's where they came from anyway). Had to make a few letters on my own, and colorize pretty much all of them with the slightly different colors of red so I thought it was worth posting. Oddball width, but again, it's meant for a scrolling texture to give off a sort of lively screen vibe. 6 Share this post Link to post
ViolentBeetle Posted July 25, 2022 (edited) Oh boy oh boy is this another brown rock wall? We need more of those. Greyscale so you could colorize it yourself. (It wasn't really much of a seam, but it still bothered me, this should be better) Edited July 25, 2022 by ViolentBeetle 11 Share this post Link to post

RockyGaming4725 Posted August 1, 2022 (edited) Variation of LITGOTH1 from 32in24-15_tex_v2.wad stretched the vertical height from 128 to 72 to fit some doors better. Also accidentally flipped the lights order :p In game examples LITGOTH1 Spoiler LITGOTH4 (72 height change) Spoiler 11 Share this post Link to post
ChopBlock223 Posted August 3, 2022 Always liked that one door, and it's nice seeing a light being made to fit better with it. 0 Share this post Link to post

DΞLTΛ Posted August 4, 2022 Some light textures... Fun fact: There were originally other light textures, but I extracted the freedoom 2 textures, about 4 of them were replaced forcing me to make new textures and rename them all... Only LIGHT1, the first light texture survived. This is light1, the one with the yellow circle. | | \/ 0 Share this post Link to post
horselessheadsman Posted August 12, 2022 "Lo Wang thinks Doomguy is a little short for this game! Ehehehehe!" Yes, texture scaling can alter textures to make them fit, but not all ports can use texture scaling, and not having to edit each linedef saves time. Free to use if appropriate credit is given. cracky-bracky Posted August 13, 2022 (edited) Some sort of drain/gate with bodies behind it. Palette-accurate version Not palette colored Feel free to use this but be aware it has VERY specific dimensions (I made it specifically for this one wall in a map I'm working on.) 9 Share this post Link to post
Cacodemon187 Posted August 13, 2022 Hey everyone, here's a couple new edits I made! Misc. edits: "Demon UAC" textures, including a template of the logo: And very useful yellow signs: 14 Share this post Link to post

Well, I just imposed it over two tan rock textures and it does well. But I think this hole has a lot of potential as a patch to apply over all sorts of textures. Do you have it separately? 0 Share this post Link to post

Also I noticed that a section on the grate was much lighter than the rest of the grate, so I fixed it. Drywtler Posted August 19, 2022 MORE 1-BIT EDITS Some textures are harder to translate since you can do so much with two colors in such small sizes. Some of these had to be almost enterely redone. COMP03_5 centered graphics and their original position COMP04_1 and 2 COMP04_5 and 6 CONS1_1 (i've made the rotations but didn't upload them) 12 Share this post Link to post
cracky-bracky Posted August 20, 2022 (edited) Currently working on some kind of wild west styled WAD, and I made these paintings. I haven't paletted them yet, unfortunately. I used some sprites made by a guy named Deon in the first texture, so credits to him. 18 Share this post Link to post

Katamori Posted August 24, 2022 I know this isn't a request thread but I've read through the entire thread and found thing particularly interesting. Does anyone have any edits or variants on the bright blue tile textures from the D'Sparil hideout chapter of Heretic? Not gonna lie, I need it for...something. 1 Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted August 24, 2022 You can quite easily achieve this yourself with a little bit of learning. :) Fire up your copy of SLADE and find the graphics you want to recolour, then right click on them selecting either "Color Remap", "Colorize", or "Tint". Color Remap offers the most precision but you need to manually choose which palette indexes to recolour from/to. The colourize feature might be a quick way to achieve what you're looking for but sometimes it's not precice enough as it recolours the whole texture toward your selected shade. Lastly there's tint which is similar to colourize but instead "washes out" the image in the direction of the selected colour. Hope this helps! 5 Share this post Link to post

I've tried that before with some success, admittedly, but for more serious edits, I'm often unsure. Thanks for the tip anyways, it's always useful to learn about new SLADE features! 0 Share this post Link to post

You mean wave tiles or like the flats it has on the ceiling? I think the former exists in many wads, like Auger; Zenith. 0 Share this post Link to post
Katamori Posted August 24, 2022 (edited) 3 hours ago, ViolentBeetle said: You mean wave tiles or like the flats it has on the ceiling? I think the former exists in many wads, like Auger; Zenith. Actually I acquired everything shown in the linked post from AUGER;ZENITH, I may take another look but I'm afraid there's nothing matching this style. Now that I think about it once more, though, I may work out something! I found a post here that detailed, how to break symmetry in mirrored sky textures and I had a wonderful time "renoising" an otherwise really interesting sky texture @kirbyguy11 made some while ago: Shifted the entire tower to the left, for some better perspective on the scenery, then repeated some more notable patterns and fixed the lighting-dithering effect on the sky as much as I could. I didn't have Aseprite or any other specialized tool installed on my current setup so I mostly used Paint.NET and simple brush tools, along layers for masking, and rotation transformation tools with nearest neighbour setting. Someone better than me can surely improve upon it - to be fair, this is really late 90's-esque by all standards, I don't even know what was the source, but it invoke some feelings in me so I couldn't let it slide away. Also yes, technically it might be a better idea to create a 4-part sky for a more diverse view, but that would require more drawing capabilities and I always screw up the first time of setting one, so I stick with simplicity for now. EDIT: found the original post, apparently it's based on downtown Nashville, no original photo linked though :/ Edited August 24, 2022 by Katamori : typo 16 Share this post Link to post
ViolentBeetle Posted August 28, 2022 Found a face on a fountain the other day, made it tile horizontally. When paletted into doom palette it ended up as greyscale, so you can colorize it into something if you feel like it. 8 Share this post Link to post
