Post your Doom picture! [post in Part 2 instead]

Does that high-tech shutter door lead into a lab or something? I can't ever imagine that door appearing casually; it looks like it has layers of security upon it, yet I see it a lot in Doom 2 as a bedroom door.

The Hacx desk textures don't really fit, thematically, within a tech-base. Old wooden desks in the middle of the concrete/plastic/metal environment represented by TEKGREN and STARTAN? It works a bit better in the third screenshot, but even then you'd have to replace the STARTAN cubicle walls by some more appropriate texture.

Thanks for the heads up, Gez.

I decided to change to gray desk textures, also, I found a more appropriated cubible texture.

Actually, it takes to the main archives storage. I think the use of this kind of door fits the map, since its an underground administration center, under a hi-tech base.

Mark: That looks terrific, though I'm not 100% into that ceiling texture...
Deathetc: You explanation 'framing' the picture in a context really gives it some oomph. I agree with Phml; it's art, and it's surprisingly moving.

Anyway, all this art talk inspired me to post a screenshot of the time I turned off textures while testing in GL mode and nearly killed my computer. I thought it looked interesting, anyway:

I actually recommend going around your map with textures off. It's a decent indicator of how dynamic your light levels are, and how clearly defined one sector is from another. Puts your map into a whole new 'light.'

Not sure if this counts... but my computer crashed while I was using Doom Builder, and was on kmxexii's "Doomed" blog, and Facebook simultaniusly and the result was quite funny and managed to sum up my sad life on one clusterfuck of a page :p

Saw this on another forum, had to share it.

Thanks, GamePro; I never would've figured that out on my own. :p

What? I thought it's legit, not a meme, unless Linguica contributed with it to that magazine.

Trying to reboot my own boom megawad 2012, starting off by remaking a couple of the sucky maps I made back in the day, this is the new map04 named "late night shopping"

Mix of brick and tech, with some small shops and security areas, much more compact than the original.

Wasn't even in a magazine, it's totally shooped.

If only that protip worked on the final boss in Quake.

So the protip would be: Telefrag it so it dies. :P

Then Imgur will get low on budget and start being slow too. All of this resembles a life cycle. When a website becomes slow/ad-ridden/naggy it looks like it's at the end of its lifetime.

I guess I can post this. It's for HPack and done using Worldcraft and my IdTech2-to-IdTech1 converter (QVoidWad). I had already posted similar shots but I rebooted the level. Despite being all 3d floors, it doesn't slow my computer to a crawl (though I'll have to see once I slaughter-populate it). Also, this is a blatant copy-paste (i.e. low quality map) until I do something else.

Did you ever play American McGee's Alice (the first)?

And there are several more uncomplicated image hosters, e.g. frupic.
