This is a set of configuration files for DeathManager! v1.5 (DM.EXE). This version of DM was included with later versions of Heretic, Hexen and Final Doom, but requires a special configuration file (DM.DAT) in order to operate. This is a set of such configuration files for Ultimate Doom, Doom II, Strife and Chex Quest. -
There's a distinct lack of good Chex Quest levels out there, and sadly these don't make the list. These are good Doom levels however, and considering that's what the author went for in his description, it's an easy 4 stars. If the levels had Chex Quest gameplay instead of Doom gameplay, it would've been a 5.

Simple yet great wad! Kermit de Frog is the best! Also kewl in Chex Quest too. Its great to use as a change of pace. To the previous commenter have you ever designed game graphics before or even know what it takes to do so? Have you ever used Photoshop or even edited wads? If not you have no room to talk. 5 Star Wad!

The final entry in the archives when you search for the author "sparky". Compared to all the shit he's unleashed, like the infamous Plutonia Easy or the cancelled Kaizo Chex Quest, this sounds pretty useful and space-saving. Alas, this wad is only intended for Jdoom: a word that I, a citizen in the year 2012, do not know the meaning of.

Cartoony childish shit has no place with a game like doom... except Chex Quest. Chex Quest pulled it off. HOWEVER this peice of crap did not. At. All. MSpaint graphics were only pulled off in DOTIMS and that was a jokewad! Horrible excuses for bosses, go play DVII and Action Doom for examples on how to create good dehacked bosses and monsters! The only way I can play this is with a sound mod and a weapons mod (preferably Zero Tolerance, ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THIS MOD)!

For the non-North American audience, Chex Quest was a freebie given away with the US equivalent of Shreddies. It was also an AOL tie-in. This was back in 1996. No doubt the original CD is a valuable antique in certain circles. This unofficial clone is surprisingly polished, although the samples have been badly converted (they have pops at the end). The graphics are vivid and the sound effects are demented (the 'demons' are a hoot). Infinitely better than fan-made manga Doom conversions.

Wow, was Tim Willits a corporate whore or what? I guess his support for always-on DRM should've come as no surprise. Anyway, it's a thousand times more fun and detailed than Chex Quest and other shills, especially if it's from the early '90s (no date listed?). The robot-rapist "come here, baby" voice creeped me out, though. 3.5/5

...They raped Tom Hall's and the Williams team's levels. Also, look how arrogant the authors were in the text file! "not just an add-on episode, but the fifth chapter in the Ultimate Doom universe"? Chex Quest was more of a fifth episode than this crap! 1.5/5 (because the original levels were decent, at least)
