    Swarm Deathmatch!

    Version

    2 downloads

Great deathmatch wads that play great in both deathmatch modes.(Except Map01) Map01 is just a small tight but smoothe duel-type level. I made it as small and as light as possible for all of those whose systems have problems with those huge deathmatch levels. Good for 2,3 or even 4 platers. Map02 is for 2,3 or 4 players. Map03 is best with 2 players. Map04 is best with 4 players. All maps are made with Deathmatch 1 in mind but all of them except Map01 have enough ammo and power-ups for Altdeath.

    Hell Revealed II

oh Hell Revealed II, you are one of my more replayed wads, but even as replayable as you are, you're still not one of my favorites. my opinion on the two Hell Revealed has changed a bit, and I think the sequel does improve in making some pretty decent levels. while there's less ideas and the detail is often still crap (bar MAP25, which seems to be the only one with some custom textures), this is outweighed by some more interesting combat scenarios as well as some excellent music tracks, the metal-sounding midis work well with some of the tougher outings. you can tell some of the authors went quite over the line with layouts, MAP19 is the biggest example of this, with a five-tier central area with four 3D bridges, of course there's more to 3D bridges as other levels like MAP24 use them (although that one doesn't do it well). aside from the 3D stuff, there's gonna be some interesting homages whether to the first Hell Revealed or otherwise, like Dis 2000, the aforementioned MAP24 which is the Inmost Dens III, Not That Simple II, The Path II, The Descent II, Hardcore (a Dead Progressive-type level), Siege II, and Resistance Remains. gameplay of course is hard. believe it or not, the worst enemies in all of Hell Revealed II are actually the hitscanners, expect chaingunners in some real problem spots, or just about everywhere, and that includes ITYTD too. it's a rough ride all the way through the latter levels because of these things. chaingunners are real blatant in some levels, like MAP22 with its backtracking and its liberal chaingunner usage, which is even MORE liberal on a later map, MAP29. advice: keep watching your back at the last stretches of MAP29 for the chaingunner teleporter ambushes. that's just one example of a marathon level, so try to push through as much as you can there. in a way, the difficulty is what makes this enjoyable, although some maps are much less forgiving and more tedious than anything. early maps like MAP04 and MAP05 are badly cramped. MAP12 is an easy standout for its huge wide open closets and some teleporting enemies, worst of which are the archies. MAP24 is extremely tedious due to its 3D bridge usage along with some annoying monster placement. MAP28 is another example of tedium with somewhat bad monster placement, although really it's the hunt for the switches in the map that makes it bad. these examples are of course offset by the nicer homage levels and the open slaughter/marathon ones that are actually decent. to think that despite my overall opinion on HR2 not changing, I still use it as a nice testing wad for other mods and such shows just how skilled I am at things. it's got some crazy levels alright, just watch the hitscanners and where you are.

    Battle House ][ v2.0

    Version

    17 downloads

:My first real WAD for DOOM ][. I wanted a level (MAP02) to just go around and hunt things. That's why there is such an obvious ending in MAP02. There are 2 or more possible exits on MAP02 & MAP04. OK. You want a story. Let's see what I can think of. OK. You're taking over a UAC base. That's a good start. They send you to a secret military base and let you load up on guns. Then you open up the teleport and jump in to the first UAC area. After you shut it down by pressing the obvious exit, the secret exit button, or kill the leader you are sent off to the next area. In the next area you take over another base where there is big security and have to get all of the keys. To finish you have to get into the escape pod and hitting the detach button. The next area you land on an old UAC area that was supposedly abandon. Well you find out differently. The old castle isn't abandon. You decided to earn a bonus and take that base over. At the end of the level there is a space ship. I could have done a better job at making it but that's all I did. Make sure to visit the fighting rings and make the Cyberdemon and the Spiderdemon fight to the death. If that isn't good enough tough shit.
OK, I just feel I were stupid to give this shit 1/5 because it's not THAT bad at all, but...it still sucks in many points, whatever. Actually, Map01, Map04(Secret Level) and Map06 are OK, even they can got boring if you don't like the style of this wad. Well, it's Masa's first work and I think I can see he put some heart in it but too bad it failed by mess a lot of bad things. 2/5 -playerlin

32in24-10: MAPS FOR THE MAP GOD

    Version

    24 downloads

"In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the Yeoman Engineers and Designers of Software." Their assignment this week was to produce 32 levels suited for 4-8 player free-for-all deathmatch within 24 hours. Thanks to a timely ambush by dastardly terrorists, it took them 48 hours to accomplish this. In spite of this, YEDS hopes that this megawad will be worthy of your perusal. The levels in this iteration of the series are: MAP01: Lawn Wake IX by esselfortium MAP02: Grayscale by Mechadon MAP03: Wood, Stone, and Steel by The Green Herring MAP04: Techbase, Bloody Techbase by Tib MAP05: Baseheads by Melon MAP06: Boxed In by Solarn MAP07: Lord Assburger's Manor by Craigs MAP08: Perfect Blue by Walter Confalonieri MAP09: High Roller by Icytux MAP10: Terror Towers by TrueDude MAP11: Eat Dirt by Jimmy91 MAP12: See and Hunt Thy Enemies by Philnemba MAP13: Mithanthaya by tm512 MAP14: Delirite by Mechadon MAP15: Five Piece Chicken Dinner by Revenant MAP16: Abandoned Mining Complex on Tiberius Alpha by RottKing MAP17: Stretch Mark Labs by 40oz MAP18: Need That Soulsphere by Forty-Two MAP19: Doublequick by Icytux MAP20: Canyon Target by kuchikitaichou MAP21: Stoned Grasshopper by Xtroose MAP22: Big Trouble in Fuzakistan by Walter Confalonieri MAP23: Oh No! Alien Pee! by Melon MAP24: Too Many Pizza by The MisterCat MAP25: Tech Initiative by purist MAP26: Cannonball by esselfortium MAP27: 3D TREE TEMPEST by RottKing MAP28: Viridian Complex by The Green Herring MAP29: Base Battle by killer ninja MAP30: Jeremiah's Museum by TimeOfDeath MAP31: Quinoline by Mechadon MAP32: Choco by Mechadon (lol, one day late) Since the WAD ended up taking two days to make instead of one, here are a few levels that didn't make it through quality control, but were kept anyway just so the mappers wouldn't feel bad. You're welcome. MAP33: The Fly by Joshy MAP34: Ballistic Base by KingLunar MAP35: Symmetrical Shit by ClonedPickle MAP36: Welcome to the DWANGO by Walter Confalonieri MAP37: Hell Arena Deathmatch XL by RottKing And last, but not least, here's a pair of levels that were made for previous 32in24s, but didn't quite make it. Think of these as 3.5th anniversary bonus levels! Or don't! See if they care! MAP38: MILITARY BIJW by Bucket (originally for 32in24-8) MAP39: Filler Techbase by Icytux (originally for 32in24-9)

    The Final Gathering

Utterly boring. Maps 1-3 are meh, map04 should be named 'the temple of confusion' and map05 is very good, except for the pathetic use of a Romero-on-a-stick for an ending. Gameplay is nowhere most of the way, tons of cells, nothing to use them on, bad monster placement. This is a wad that definitely hasn't aged well. 2/5 - Belial

    Holy Hell 1.1

The author fails to see the importance of playtesting. Map03 is (probably) impossible to beat. Those archviles in the YK room were an excellent idea. The second room after the YK door is ridiculous as well. Map01 has severe ammo problems. A 'tips' section in the txt won't fix them. Map01 has a broken monster teleporter. A bug in map02 crashes PrBoom (RK room). The monster teleporters in map04 can screw up. The sexy fights in map04 and the outdoor section of map03 can't save this wad. 0/5 - Belial

    Eternal Doom

I was never a big fan of E.D. I could mention the neverending switch hunts, the annoying, unplesant gameplay, the dullness of many of the levels and the way Sverres maps stick out as far supreme and make the rest look even more mediocre then they are. The wad is worth playing only because of Kvernemo's map04, 05 and 12. And even those architecturally grand maps suffer from a mundane gameplay. New sounds and graphics just made it look like a weird version of heretic. 3/5 -Johnsen

    SELFISH SERIES 1

This zip file has been updated from 3 maps to 7 (by a rerelease of the wad on May 11, 2006). In addition to 4 more levels, the original 3 maps (which run on Map02, Map03, and Map06 of this wad) have been improved in multiple ways. Map07 is brand new (albeit small) while Map01, Map04, and Map05 were previously released and selfish-x.wad, selfish4.wad, and selfish5.wad respectively. All in all, these maps certainly meet Paul's standards of great looks and GP and are well worth 5/5!

    TurboCharged ARCADE! (Demo Release)

This is the trailer for a set of levels that have not been released as of 10/08. Despite the readme, it is a joke wad - surprisingly funny in places. The end of Map01 made me laugh. Map02 and 03 are dull. Map04, the painting, is genuinely clever and original. Map05, battleships, was a let-down. Map06 was reminiscent of The 7th Guest. Matrix level looks wonderful but uses too much bullet time. Map08 not great.

    GIGAKIL2

The text file doesn't lie, this is a good example for other WAD makers. a few tiny HOMs present in map03, and.. Wait a sec, a different version of map04 is present in dwango5.wad, that's weird. Anyways, I reccomend playing these.

    Nitro's Doom

Very fun! Especially for a first WAD. But seriously guys? 1/5 and 0/5's ? This ain't a 1 star/0 star wad, that would belong to Wow.wad and Terry's WADs. I like the storage room with the metal walls in MAP04, the WAD seems to be a little too easy in some areas, but I've almost died a few times so far ;) 4/5 -TB171

That brass instrument version of Sanitarium on MAP04 is one of the funniest MIDIs I've ever heard, along with a brass Smells Like Teen Spirit cover I heard on some other shitty '90s deathmatch wad. 2/5
I still hate everything in this wad. Especially that Map04 music, it sucked ass. 5/5 - Moti
