I liked this megawad, but this one surely plays better in co-op as it is designed with that gameplay in mind. Also, i made a dehacked patch for it so i can read how the story goes while playing this excellent megawad This is the most Doom 2 megawad that i played so far. The maps are similary abstract like Doom 2, but this are far better. They are interesting to look and play, but some become a little too long making the experience to drag a little. Its interesting to note that this was release before The Plutonia Experiment, but there are some maps that shows it quirks and i'm not talking about the maps made by Milo And Dario Casali, there are a lot of maps that are designed around the challenge the different monsters in the map will offer. And that shows that the community was heading that way before the great Casalis made their beloved megawad. H2H-Xmas and Memento Mori are megawads (the firsts even) in the style of Plutonia, this is centered around offering an interesting ad challenging experience to the player. This makes TNT: Evilution, the third contender to the be one of the first megawads, the only one that is centered in a more atmospheric and chilling experience with good sparkles of good gameplay. Of the three megawad, Memento Mori is the one that plays better, but TNT: Evilution looks more interesting, while H2H-Xmas offers a great challenge. Aside from that, this megawad gives me the chance to make a custom dehacked patch with new story and also a custom status bar that maybe i will release someday.

Totally awesome and hard maps pre-Hell Revealed era. The maps are good with some christmas themed stuffs, like snow and some new music, and the awesome status bar with santa claus. But its no more than that. If you really want to play this to its full, i recommend you to search for the h2h-xmas-fix.wad that @NightFright made. It adds a fix for map14, some new graphics, and most importat, it adds a proper dehacked patch with some neat text screens and maps names. If this is not enough and you want the ultimate christmas experience, Doomxmas is the answer: it adds properly themed mosters, iced doom textures that greatly enhances the look of the maps, new christmas themed weapons, new sounds, and a dehacked patch for some neat tricks with the mosnters. And also it comes with a neat music pack with a ton of christmas songs to wisthle along!

I kept from playing this for a long time because it's "designed for coop play," and can now safely say that was the worst possible excuse for not playing this. I'd go so far as to say that (except for Map25) there are no outright bad maps in this entire set. It's not quite as polished as its successor, but in my opinion it's far better than other early megawads like H2H-Xmas and (dare I say it) TNT Evilution.

The Demons, being really PISSED mortals have beaten them decided to take their revenge by stopping XMAS. So, they invade Santa's Workshop at the northpole. It's you just to put a stop to those bastards and make sure all the good little boys and girls can get Heretic for XMAS. IN OTHER WORDS.. KILL EVERYTHING. -
Four example WADs included with an early distribution of Geoff Allan's Doom Edit, the level editor later known as DoomEd The Real Thing. The most notable one is MINE1.WAD, an empty shell of a level that served as the base for FLASH (id=114), TECHBASE (id=308), WATCH51 (id=735), POT (id=1468), DRAGON1 (not on /idgames yet), SERENITY.WAD E3M2 (id=1033), ASNEW8 (id=1158), Xmas Doom MAP01 (id=1173) and D&D11D1 (id=14388). - N_A

This is map 12 from H2H-Xmas in its original form, and it's a decent 1995 map. Not much stands out, but the staircase trap at the end is definitely the highlight of the level. The jump from HMP to UV is quite something, though: every single easy enemy is replaced by a Revenant. It can get annoying dealing with 20 of them at a time. But either way, it's simple, but fun classic Doom. 3.5/5

This is the two maps I submitted to DAC2009. MAP01 is a little filler type map with an interesting survival twist on gameplay, and MAP02 is my original, more christmas-y entry. Both maps offer a challenge in their own way and are made to old-school specifications. I decided to spruce them up a little with ZDoom and just make it play oldschool, much like The Mouth of Death in that respect. There's no story obviously and the maps are only vaguely connected but they play together nicely and MAP02 is not too different from a pistol-start. Music is from XMas Doom2 again for MAP01 and the credits screen. Also included in this text file is some extra info on each map, as a throwback to a grander idea that went with time. -

This is map 14 from H2H-Xmas in its original form. The level starts out in a series of strange, red rooms, and then leads up to a medium-sized outdoor area with a lot of enemies running around. As usual, Ultra Violence contains massive amounts of Revenants. What can I say? It's a decent 1995 map with a lot of challenge. 3.5/5

Christmas are very soon, but you still aren't in a Christmas mood? Well, try playing Doom with this! This probably won't help, but will still be pretty fun. Basically, I've taken resources from various Christmas-themed .wads, and put them all in one awfully big file. Also, I've made one or two graphics (like new Cacobauble's sprites, or voxel presents). This is supposed to work with every map that doesn't change textures and Zombieman's and Baron of Hell's sprites. (If it changes only the textures and sprites, just change the load order.)
