What's the best song in a WAD you've ever heard?

MAP31 of Perdition's Gate (also MAP01 of Hell to Pay).

I do agree most of the music from Valiant is great, but that track is amazing.

Yeah, it's a good track. HTP/PG have good tunes.

NDCP2 MAP24. Planning on using it for something in the future.

thirded. Doom mods have had a lot of great music, but i've yet see anything trump this one.

aside from stuff created by artists here the best song for me has to be that Xenogears one, Knight of Fire or something, the one on Vanguard MAP11 MAP12. It fits well with anything IMO.

forgot to mention that a level from Zones of Fear introduced me to Mussorgsky's Il Vecchio Castello, part of the Pictures at an Exhibition suite thingy, and gave me a new favourite composer to admire :))

generally I like Doom music as far removed from the original soundtrack as is possible

This right here. It made Cyberwar 7734 one of my favourite maps. Also the track Industrial in Map 23 of Valiant.

It's not the Scooby-Doo "theme" per se, it's a piece of incidental music that plays every so often in the cartoon. It can be heard at 2:50 in this video of "Slipper":

Jimmy's "Weather Warning" in BTSX E2 on the map Unstable Journey is my favorite

Although not so much the soundfont used in his YouTube, though it sounds great in Chorium I think

I really love the mood it sets though, it's a great "only one last mountain to climb before the end" feel to it

Hard question, I could list hundreds of "best songs". Well, here is one: The Lost WAD #7.

Simpsons Doom.

Two standouts to me:

* Rylayeh MAP02, no idea who or what it is. I should ask in that other thread. Most of Rylayeh's music doesn't work so well IMO but this one is a major exception.

* NOVA MAP14, a track from WH40k Final Liberation, MIDI-fied by Paul D. Really great tune, it's kind of simple but it really works to set the mood for that map.

the heavy ass song off of map 32 in CC4. its either map 31 or 32. but its awesome.

Galaxia.wad's MUS rendition of U96's remix of the theme from Das Boot. I have an MP3 recording of it, even, because I actually can't stand U96's remix compared to the MUS file.

Excellent pick. WildWeasel. That music is used on the final map of dmd2die as well, truly fantastic boss music.

Am I crazy, or has no one mentioned Cold Tea by Andy Lee Robinson from SSL2?

A few of my personal favorites are the Misri Halek theme from Alien Vendetta, D_UNKNWN from Turbocharge Arcade, D_DOOM from Holy Hell, and D_STALKS from Whispers of Satan. I also love Blood Jungle, but that's from an IWAD. :P
