So I've found out about this DB2 glitch...

If you have a sector that consists of several joined shapes and you draw a linedef fully inside one of the shapes, that shape will become a separate sector even if that linedef didn't even touch the shape's linedefs.

That sucks. What's worse, you won't even notice that until your map starts breaking out of nowhere.

I have to check if GZDB still crashes my computer.

So now I also have to wear this gum (similar to the ones that boxers wear) in my mouth for an hour a day, and after some time I'll also start wearing it overnight.

Some days ago I got fed up with Firefox and switched to Vivaldi. You know, that one "continuation" of the oldfag Opera?

So far I'm pleased EXCEPT FOR the fact that it constantly gives you various "page couldn't be reached" errors, so you have to refresh everything, like, 2-3 times in order for the browser to actually load anything. (It just did it, twice, when I tried posting this status. Any advice?)

Other than that, it's very much like the good old beloved Opera 12.17.

Somehow I got internet in the village for a while. Countryside isn't what it used to be, unfortunately. :]

I'm using these blissful moments to laugh at people getting annoyed by my Eagle07 MAP05.

Aaaaand also there's the less blissful oversight of mine -- the exit switch being pressable from below, but who cares.

Taking the Cambridge Proficiency Exam (that's C2 level) on the 10th of March. The speaking part of it is on the 11th -- my birthday! 

If I do pass it, I'll have a certificate that will allow me to teach English or something, and that's apparently gonna be a handy source of income when I go to uni. Nice birthday present eh???

Anyway, this exam comprises things that are actually quite difficult (but definitely possible). 

E.g. you have to KNOW and be able to use all those obscure and uncommon English constructions. I'm having quite a struggle with the inverted stuff a-la "Little did I know" in particular. I mean ffs who speaks like that??? aah damn!

Also, punctuation. Sweet Jesus Christ almighty. That's what I get for neglecting it in my internet posting, someone might say (and he'd be right ayy lmao), but English doesn't seem to have very definite rules for this kind of stuff. Words like "which" can be used in constructions that both include a comma and do not, for instance.

Moreover, the various forms of essays (e.g. proposal, review, report OH MY GOD) are damn hard as well. There's a particular structure of your work that should be honoured (Introduction --> point 1 --> point 2 --> conclusion, that kind of stuff), also stylistic things such as vocabulary, and that's tedious to remember. Don't forget to memorise all the linking words as well!

TAKING ALL OF THE AFOREMENTIONED INTO CONSIDERATION wish me luck, right??? This is gonna be so fun!!

tl;dr -- Risen3D mapping is tough, but I Am Tougher

I've been studying Risen3D for some more yesterday, I'm actually starting to understand something. It takes a lot of time though, and I haven't even started actually mapping yet.

Some decisions really don't make any sense, both regarding the editing features and the port itself.

If I somehow endure this ultimate test to my mental capacity, I might write some tutorials in the corresponding subforum, so that future generations of ZDoom trolls have an easier time.

I didn't sleep at all yesterday tonight, as I was too busy with mapping. I'm not a nerd right? Eventually I did get 40 minutes of sleep... damn, I wish I didn't, I've never felt that strange in all my life. I felt too weak to speak.

Someone's obviously living life the wrong way, I can't imagine how it will look when I get a job or something.

Good thing though, the map is 75% done after only 3 days of work! That beats my previous record by a large margin.

BTW, I will be offline between tomorrow and next Saturday, so yeah... one shitposter less. Maybe I can get some sleep too.
