  1. Incredible that this map doesn't have a review yet! Anyway, this is one of the deathmatch efforts by piXel reX, didn't played it's other DM maps in other community projects but from what i've seen looks like is the perfect habitat of this mapper: a fast and really fun arena sets in the 3 different planes, the fighting is hectic and the new deh variations is pretty awesome! Very fun map!

  2. I've got in knowledge of this wad from Wadarcheology and from Sir Robin's review WAD page before that, but never had the chance to play it properly until today. This is a really unique and fun map, looks and plays pretty good (even the maze section is fun) with a pretty good layout, strongly interconnected between all the maps, grandiose architecture and room design (especially the lowering corridor in the cave), maybe a little squarish but it's pretty good.

New graphics and sprites are pretty cool and fun, how the Caco dude has been done?

Overall, pretty epic and fun map!

  3. A unexpected really cool map, pretty cool visually especially for the time it was done. Layout is really good, intricate but you can't get lost, lots of interconnection and gameplay is easy, but challenging.

Only thing i didn't fully enjoyed it was the inescapable pit in the cave after the yellow door.

A really impressive (for the time) remake of Duke Nukem E1L1, with new graphics, sounds and music. Lots of great detailing where the explosions hole and the sloped ceiling/floors are, lots of new textures (including the dancing girl movie at the cinema!), small sectors elevators where the jumping sections are and lots of clever ideas and trickery to emulate the Duke Nukem 3D feel at best under the vanilla limitations (even if i've got a small VPO at cinema area)...

    Great stuff.

REally good and well interconnected map in the style of E1 with some hints of E2 and Doom 2 E1, some cool new textures and even some boom effects like a colored deep water pool, highly recommended to give it a play! Is a fun map!

  6. A really neat and useful texture pack for cities/realistic envoirnment, the warp red floor is kinda pointless imo and the RROCK textures clashing with the same name in Boom-compatible and lower ports, but It can easily fixed by changing the textures name in the pack (thing that, obviously, i didn't did while making Hell on World Tour -that uses this package)... Overall good stuff

  7. A really extremely useful little wad patcher from the 90s, still using it for compiling many wads in one single file, works great for dosbox, it not works on more modern "dos" versions, like windows prompt command.

    A must in for everyone!

Take a shot at this editor on dosbox and it's pretty impressive for such a old editor! Pretty easy and competent program, looks like a ancient version of the most popular Doom Builder editor.

A really good map by Alexa Jones, the level is pretty thought and the textures are really cool, plus the music and the mood of this place... Really good stuff!

  10. Is a map that gives what do you expect from a Jaxxoon R map (know him for the best parts in WOO 3 and his various WIP stuff like that metroidvania thing with WaLuigi), fun jokes, impressive usage of zdoom scripts, crazy bosses (like this creepy, ghoulish mario clone, or grand dad what the shit clone if you like) and a wacky sense of humor that will cranks you up. Loved the aestehic turn of egyptian like structure, similar to Ancient Aliens, very colorful and cartoonish.

  11. Visually impressive, musically smooth af, but the levels starts to show their full potential not until the second episode. A really beautiful megawad, i don't quite enjoyed big part of  the first episode with their arena-like design, with some rare exceptions. Also a pair of maps (MAP04 and MAP19, even a small section in MAP26) have a very cryptic progression for the map, even with the small sizes of MAP04 and MAP19.

    Best maps: MAP01, MAP08, MAP11, MAP15, MAP16, MAP17, MAP18, MAP21, MAP24, MAP25, MAP27, MAP29

    Interesting maps: MAP06, MAP13, MAP26, MAP28, MAP32

"It could be better": MAP31, especially the first half that made me hate that boring gray structure of ass. Also big part of episode one maps.

    "Worst" maps: MAP04, MAP09, MAP19

A really good, well crafted episode 4 map that somehow resembles original E4M1, but in larger scale and more detailed. Gameplay is a little easier than it's counterpart, but is still engaging.

  13. A very neat 1996 map that i kinda remember to have played already long ago, or at least something with a similar start, a really good interconnected layout (even if i was roaming around asking where to go, especially after taking the blue key and trying to leave the caves section), good texturing, hard monster placement (the easiest monsters are the shotgunners), really generous with health placement and some strategic megaspheres here and there, too bad it is too stingy with ammo, leaving me battling chaingunners with only a chainsaw sometimes... but overall, very good!

Another short romp, using the gothic texture pack, despite the small monster usage the level is pretty challenging due to a strategic usage of monsters and the usual instant raising monster closet trap, a signature of this mapper as i can see thought the wads i'm playing. Another pretty neat map, maybe a little much cramped for my tastes... But still a fun map.
