    Mattbratt's Level Pack

A sad reminder of one of the most infamous posters on Doomworld. For those who wonder, MAP01 is Sphagne's Symphony of Death (id=116520), MAP02 is XXoXX's A Monster Too Many (id=14365), MAP03 is Dimiter Georgiev's Cyber Fun (id=9805), and MAP04, as already noted, is Costa Lappas' SQUARES (id=12327). SUPRWEP8.DEH, of course, is an example patch included with DeHackEd (id=7703). The rest of the WAD is an inconsequential set of flat, monotonous rooms and corridors. Just skip this one. -TGH! Earth's Fall

This is a monster replacement WAD with monsters that generally kill you within 1 or 2 hits, and have health ranges that would make MDK seem like a pistol replacement. The music is replaced - the first few maps have copyrighted MP3 tracks, and the rest are varied in nature (mostly shitty dadrock though) none of which fits the theme. Map04 is the only new map, and it's just Joey's own Unholy Fortress with missing textures. 1/5

    Sinister Intention

Wad explores unusual gameplay themes: on MAP01 you are mostly using pistol, while on MAP04 your primary weapon is RL. But you get some traditional action as well. Many maps are quite dark, with rather insignigicant lighting changes. Some may enjoy this "dusk" theme; to me it made the levels look rather plain. Some secret areas are weird: they're not hidden, you just don't necessarily have to visit them. Overall, a curious piece of classic dooming; I would do many things differently but who wouldn't?

    Evil Journey - Plan "A"

Love those ambient sounds! Map04 was scary and interesting. Map05 have already played it in a more recent WAD of the author. The others were nice too. They build atmosphere. 5/5 - Optimus

    SargeBaldy Speedmapping Compilation #2

Some of the maps are good, and some are not. This wad is worth having for map04 and map05, and map02 is not too bad, but the rest of the maps suck. Map01 takes about 1 second to complete, and map03 requires you to BFG through a grand total of 3,621 imps. The included Zarcyb.wad is stupid also.

    Submerge Deathmatch Pack 2

    Version

    17 downloads

My second set of deathmatch wads, coupled with one really great CTF map! There would have been more, including 2 more CTF maps and 1 more DM map, but the inspiration to finish them.... is not with me currently, and I think it's been long enough since you all got a DM map set from me. Enjoy! MAP01: Apollyon's Cradle It's a dark little pocket of hell, with lots of weapons and plenty of cover MAP02: Snake Dance (Bot Friendly) This twisting battlefield is perfect for grenades! Which is convenient, since there is nothing but grenades. aaand a BFG. MAP03: Mortality (Bot Friendly) A pretty to look at temple with a couple hidden megaspheres. Use the speed to your advantage! MAP04: Tyrant (Bot Friendly) I created this map MOSTLY because I'm sick of maps that drop you right on top of a ssg when you spawn. Enjoy the chaingun ^_^ the SSG and Minigun are hidden. Use the map's runes to your advantage during a duel Scarab: Nowhere to run or hide, except for up. go for the High Jump and control the map with it CTF01: Friggin outer Space Just you and the stars ^_^ A platform floating above space, flags on both ends, you know the deal. it's really EASY to max out your hp and armor on this map! Just don't get bitchslapped out into the vacuum of space by a railgun :D

    Mountain King Version 2.0

    Version

    15 downloads

/How to Play Mountain King is a wad based on a new idea similar to the Capture the flag concept. I'm Sure you all have seen the DethTag Series and various spin off's, but this wad is a LOT different. No annoying Rad Suits to wait for, No long lava pits or skull Posts to read the score. MK features a live scoreboard that displays each players total points (green, indigo, red, brown, red team, and blue team) The object of the game is to score 5 points and then proceed to the Final scoring pod where a player will win the game. * There is a Large mountain to scale, once at the top you must lower a floor by hitting the down switch and get inside your scoring pod. If you get killed while the floor is lowering, your enemy can raise it back up with the Up switch. * Once you have scored 5 points, then your goal is to get to the final scoring area (west on the map) and locate your final score switch. Once you enter the final scoring area, a sign will appear that says "Look Out!!" Warning the other players that somebody is about the win the game. * If you are successful in scoring the final point then the exit will become available. * Its a simple concept, no strange switches to find or wierd traps to overcome. To see more how the game is actually played, load the wad and watch the 1st demo. In this demo there is a 2 player game on Map04. (See below for more details on the differences between maps 1-4)

    Swarm Deathmatch!

    Version

    4 downloads

Intended for two-player deathmatch1 skill 5 (the only way to play). Map01 No comment. Map02 Cat & mouse with 2players, chaos with more. Map03 No comment. Map04 Cat & mouse with 2players. Is also the level best suited for 3-4players. Map05 No comment. Map06 Everybody hates this level,I do too but I include it because I originally made it as a rocket-training wad because I was terrible at using the rocket launcher at close quarters. This level has improved that immensely. Map07 Nice looking level but gameplay not as fast as the others, might also be suitable for 3-4players. Map08 A technical level for a change, not much room for duelling but good fun. Note: includes repeat building stairs, a first for deathmatch wads as far as I know. Map09 Smoothe fast paced level with pillars making it suitable for more agile doomers. I know it's pretty unfair that if you get the BFG then you get the plasma aswell but if you're stupid enough to let your opponent pull it off then you deserve to lose badly! Map10 No comment. Map11 No comment. Map12 No comment. Map13 The last level and marks the change in style that that brought about king1.wad. All maps are made with Deathmatch 1 in mind but all of them except Maps01&11 should have enough ammo and power-ups for Altdeath.

    Swarming!

    Version

    12 downloads

These are seven of my wads. They aren't supposed to be played consecutively as an episode, each one should be started with a pistol. This Swarm.wad was originally released as Swarming.wad but that was too dificult and map04 was so massive you couldn't save games so I edited it and it is now half the size and you can save all you want! Map01 has been made a little easier; Map07 is just as difficult as it ever was! Maps 05 and 06 are easy, the rest are very difficult and, except for 01, very long. Maps 03, 04 and 07 are the really difficult marathon levels but as in all the swarm levels the difficulty is with the amount of monsters not because of any mind boggling tricks or secrets. As I always say if I wanted a thinking game I'd play chess.

    Monochrome Mapping Project

another mixed bag much like every single community project in existence, this one attempts to monochrome things, which doesn't reach its mark due to the fact that pretty much every map isn't actually monochrome. first map for instance definitely has two colors, black and white, and many others follow suit. notably the majority of maps here are just nothing but gray and gray everywhere. Membrain had the most fluid maps, MAP21 was the best map overall, and MAP22 failed to deliver in gameplay but was very well put visually and melodically. having no music in a lot of the maps in this version of the wad was another letdown. seems that Jaws in Space and Scypek2 were the only mappers who didn't bother with the ZDoom scripting, opting for simple Doom levels that are mostly monotextured; all others bothered with it and most of them are actually not all that difficult. apart from MAP21 and MAP22, the real highlights are of course the scripted levels, but not all of them were fun. FractalXX's maps are simplistic, but offer a number of monster spawns. whatever the fuck is up with the infinite spawning lost souls in MAP04 for instance? the entirety of MAP08 makes little sense. MAP17 by gggmork seems cool with the tricks but the tricks are only part of the game, and I honestly don't like Phendrena's MAP18 at all. it's an odd combination of ZDoom maps with others, you can see quite a lot of effort done with some levels here, but apart from initial impressions excitement factor will dwindle easily.

A 2 player deathmatch between Tony T. and myself on my own map04 of dweller1.wad. We had a blast playing and Tony is a real great guy to talk to. One of the main reasons I wanted to upload this lmp is simply because of the levels that we played... a little different, and very enjoyable! This level is most definitely a BFG level, as you will see me use it a lot more than normal. This demo was uploaded with Tony's permission.

    CyberFun

The wad is dated September 1996. The levels are large, but very undetailed; almost every wall has the same silvery texture. There have lots of monsters and the gameplay is tricky, but anally precise; map03 has one of those "barrack" areas with lots of identical tiny rooms that you must search. There are several close-quarters cyberdemon fights. Map04 is good fun, but it would have been much better with more and weaker monsters.

    Scimitar

I enjoyed this. It's short and sweet, like a sexy midget. The levels are simple and good-looking, with a "seamless" design, and the gameplay whizzes along. It includes a surprisingly useful dagger, and adds a scimitar that replaces the berzerk fist. There are some modified monsters. The maps generally work in Zdoom with a few quirks, e.g. on map04 a switch is missing. The dark sewer levels in "E2" were a bit of a let-down though (the dark sewer bits are the wad's main failing).
Awesome, Some of the very best Skulltag maps I've seen. Great gameplay and layout. Love the detail. Map04 and 08 are great! "Sadly, every Skulltag community project seems to suffer from this detail craze." you must not have even played the maps. Did you just look them over in Doombuilder or something? ...Since Skulltag is about the better graphics, this wad is perfect for it. 5/5! Metalhead

This is a 4-leveled deathmatch WAD for DoomII. MAP01: A big "castle", left by the dark forces in a burning town destroyed in the 4th world-war MAP02: A house owned by a PSYCHO-family after the 4th world-war MAP03: A classic deathmatch level (hasn't got anything to do with the 4th world-war). WOW! MAP04: Another castle, left by the dark forces in a burning town destroyed in the 4th world-war

    Henry (temporary name)

This is a legendary Czech 6-level wad. The main point of interest is map04, with its rather large monster population and brutal battles. I recall the author at some point offering a beer to anyone who could record a UV Max, but that got reduced to a testimonial of honour - maybe he had visions of a whole bunch of Czech Doomers turning up on his doorstep to demand their beers. The other maps are something of a mixed bag, in some cases looking like early creations, though by no means incompetent ones.

    The Final Gathering

Great mapset, even if it starts a little crudely. Map04 is the main highlight - this huge nonlinear battle demonstrated the possibilities of the Doom engine back then and is interesting to play to this day. A strong sense of fun pervades the wad, something which is lacking in many other maps.

    Simplistic Evil

A pretty decent WAD. Gameplay is pretty fun and challenging. The new monsters are good for a bit of variety but not necessarely used very well. You can break map04 and map05 by walking across ledges to barred pathways. Pretty short. It's pretty average, not very good nor very bad.

    Death Revealed

Five levels from May 2003, saved as five separate .wad files (although e.g. Map04.wad is Map04). Overall I liked 'em. The design is simple and old-fashioned but the gameplay is great, and very hard. Map01 is a good simple intro; Map02 is devilishly tricky, with an ultra-violent central arena. In fact the difficulty is man-sized throughout, almost impossible at times, e.g. Map05 with clumps of barons, archviles etc. But good overall.

    Episode

Starts off well, but, like a lot of the old Doom 1 wads, all the extra ammo and health makes it kinda dull by Map04.
effin awesome wad, except that last fight in map04 can go to hell

    ODYSSEY.WAD

Beautiful themed levels, way ahead of their time. Or behind it, depending on which level you're on. You'll understand that last sentence if you play the wad. Which you definitely should. Also, if you have Unreal Tournament, compare CTF-November with map04 of Odyssey.wad.

    Xen Level Pack!

    Version

    219 downloads

This was the longest I ever worked on anything ever, other than that one time I built a watergun to shoot my sister with when I was six. Hmph. Well, the first 2 levels were made to make fun of 90s wads, which explains the 90s sounds and HUD. Map03 i decided to step up the detailing. Map03, Map04, and the beginning of Map05 were inspired by UACMC (UAC Mutation Complex), the rest was inspired by KDIZD. Map07 was the longest I worked on any map ever, mostly due to scripting complications. By the way *********** DON'T PLAY ON (G)ZDOOM, PLAY ON SKULLTAG *********** so play it now! NOW1!!!111
