The hellspawn have invaded a local movie theater. A team was sent in before you and never came out, however, they managed to fence off the entrance to the theater. Your mission is to eleminate all the beasties and make it out alive. You will find an open exit in the "7 Doors of Death" theater, but you will first have to acquire the red key. -

C'mon, is not that bad! There's so much doomcute here that i'll think that i start to have diabetes from all the sweetness lol. Even if big part of the movies are all "Oh My Goddess!" with wrong titles as well for the, the textures a cute cartoony design, even if pretty flat sometimes. The techno midi is awful. Overall cute map. A fun trivia: iirc in the movie "7 doors of death" aka "The Beyond", near the end the main characters tries to escape from zombies (or they are possessed ghouls? I don't remember) and every time they using 3 shoots in total for all the time, using a revolver. Also that guys have a black and red mimetic like dress, like a certain monster in a certain game....

Starts in a unexciting way, but then becomes good. The levels are supposed sets at Mars moon, Phobos; staring the one and only Jena Plissken from John Carpenter movie "Escape from New York" and "Escape from L. A:", no sounds from that movie are been used but former soldier forces alert growls are changed with thunders, for some bizarre reason. MAP01 starts in a computer lab of sorts, then evolves into a twisted hellish place with a pentagram structure similar to Phobos Anomaly, is a pretty nice starting point, lots of nice vanilla trickery as well; MAP02 is a rip-off modified version of Nuclear Plant, but looking more creepy and destroyed, then evolves in a sort of labyrinthine structure with some weird sense of progression, a thing that it will be shared in the other levels of this series. Also, how it be possible to unlock the yellow skull pillar? MAP03 starts in a boring way and have, again, the bad sense of progression of the previous map it's here again, just be careful for looking at every switch in all rooms. Hit switch everywhere, reach the pretty good looking shuttle and exit. It's a conceptually interesting mapset, but a little boring to play.

Looks like a horror low budget b-movie from the 80s, but in the form of a doom map. From the music to the (intentional?) low quality of the map that looks coming out right from a shovelware cd collection of 94 maps, the map itself is fun to play overall. The tunnels that you need to crouch is a nice touch.

holy fucking shit, was this made by some schizophrenic furry or something? why do the enemies spew quotes from movies, why is THE FUCKING STARSHIP ENTERPRISE AN ENEMY!? most of the sprites are unfinished and crappy, the level design is boring and bland, It's like somebody copied and pasted my first doom level over and over again for 3000 maps. i could only get to level 10 before i had enough.

A really impressive (for the time) remake of Duke Nukem E1L1, with new graphics, sounds and music. Lots of great detailing where the explosions hole and the sloped ceiling/floors are, lots of new textures (including the dancing girl movie at the cinema!), small sectors elevators where the jumping sections are and lots of clever ideas and trickery to emulate the Duke Nukem 3D feel at best under the vanilla limitations (even if i've got a small VPO at cinema area)... Great stuff.

A really fun megawad made of compilations from third parties (hence it can't get 5 stars), but also from Al Dewey, especially the more puzzling levels. As usual with compilations, the difficulty isn't linear, and no level is like the other. Most of the music is either common third-party stuff spread over the Internet in the 90s, or cool stuff by Mark Klem. Sounds are also commonly replaced, presumably from other commercial games and movies. I find it interesting how similar the new Imp hisses screams are to the new Doom imps.

An old mid-1990s map, based around a large main arena which contains some interesting structures. For a while it's tough going, and you may die a handful of times (as I did), before getting the hang of the layout and formulating a strategy. Once you get the yellow key though, and access to the BFG, it should be game over for the baddies. Your calculations can be thrown off track however if the Archvile decides to emerge from the movie theatre at an early stage, and take a stroll out in the open. Another thing to watch for is the Cyberdemon entering the said building while you're in one of the auditoriums, and blocking your escape. I experienced both of these events, with fatal consequences...

You're `Acorn Hardas' and you're NO Green Marine. Problem is, the action ain't been too hot of late and you're not one for looking at yourself in a Hall Of Mirrors ;-) You've been in nothing but trouble with a capital `S' mainly for being Late On Parade, but what do they expect when there's nothing to do but get `spaced out'? Bringing up the rear guard on yet another routine mission, you keep comming across the toasted remains of your buddy's. Looks like this is the Big One, or is it a scene from that old Twentieth Century, 2D Movie you recall, "Planet of the Apes". It's time to prove that you ARE a waster, just like your Captain said, but not quite as he meant... -

DS-61-3 was another one of the imperial pilots that wasted all those rebel x-wings in the first star wars movie. 7 levels meant to be played alone. Alapolgy map1: simple, fairly short .wad. No shotgun annoys you, but its the point of the level. Alapolgy map2: Super shotgun's right there; very short. By DCK's colour code; three red baddies and a whole shitload of pink ones. Fromdrem: Came to me in a dream. Experience it. Lab: Fairly hard; infiltrate a alien lab and blow it to hell. Actually; it's already there. Good wad. Boom: Good wad. If you miss the shotgun, well, sorry. Wasteme: Good wad with annoying beginning. More information unzipped. This is an update. -

These are my ABSOLUTE favourite DeathMatch Levels ever played! There are 2 levels contained in this 1 wad file, they replace MAP1 & MAP2 in DOOM ][. The first is titled "MadMax2", sort of from the movie, but it's like a big Arena and theres already tonnes of levels called Arena something, so this is MadMax2. Its small but very fast and intense. I like the sprites and stuff used, it gives a real sense of being locked up for BATTLE! The second is titled "TheEscape". Dont know why but its all i can think of right now. It's very big, but as theres not that many nodes, its still very fast through the Modem. This one is my favourite, trust me, i have played it for hours and I still cant get enough of it! Theres a nice little bonus room if you can figure out how to get in there, and who knows, you may even be lucky enough to start in there! Anyway, your probably not reading anymore so i'd better get down to the next section.. -

OSIRIS Total Conversion is the much-expanded sequel to I, ANUBIS (a DOOMGATE "Best Doom2 of all time" level). OSIRIS makes that one look like pac-man. OSIRIS contains incredible new monsters, textures, graphics, and sounds (326 new sprites!). Loosely (very loosely) based on the movie "STARGATE". Designed to be DIFFICULT, with serious thought applied to gameplay, lighting, architecture, immersion, and theme. Gameplay will be best on ULTRAVIOLENT in single-player or co-op modes. Provision for deathmatch is not included. OSIRIS is NOT so huge as to slow your machine to a crawl, but faster machines will, of course, play better. OSIRIS is a totally immersive experience. A connoisseur's wadset. Not for the weak. Requires doom2 1.9 or a deft hand with dehacked. Really. This won't work with other versions. The upgrade patches are freely available at cdrom.com in the idstuff directory or in Compuserve's ACTION GAMES forum. -

This doom was is a narration/game play of doom with a mix of 2001 A Space Odyssey. Although this game only features some of aspects of 2001: A Space Odyssey, It connects some main features of the movie into the game, including Hal. This slow paced game requires at least 6 minutes to play so don't play unless you are ready to immerse yourselves in the full experience. -
A furry Doom mod & megawad. You play in a pseudo-third-person perspective of a shirtless red fox, you can see the character attacking in various, entertaining ways, such as scratching its back on a rake, or kissing a bunny while reloading a shotgun. Though I don't understand why the plasma gun is a worse chainsaw. There's a lot of detail in the drawings, they're all cleaned up, coloured and animate nicely, but the inevitable low Doom pixelation at the time makes it look really rough at times, especially with smaller sprites such as the hud mugshots. The maps are mostly extremely small and inoffensive, though a couple of them are big. They look like the author's first attempts at maps, and I gotta say, they're better than my and other's first few maps, there's a ton of experimental level design going on; cities, jungles, ships, trains, theaters (with fully animated little movies) and even a studio with props and a movie shooting going on, it's all very abstract, but I found that as striking design that way. There's a lot of gory drawings and animations that resemble a lot what the author went to work on afterwards, most notable example being the Jack webcomics, which also feature a lot of gory and hellish furry drawings, but more serious. MAP32 (a super secret map) has a super hidden secret that the author wanted to hide, due to its offensive nature, but hey, I see that's all the rage at the rest of the reviews here, but just you know, the rest of this wad is pure carnage. It's a bit of a shame that this was kind of ahead of its time, if ZDoom would've been properly made, this guy could've made the animations more fluid, and used resizing to make the art not as compressed. Overall, I found the mapset to be fun, the gimmicks were decent, maps don't look too shabby and the dehacked weapons were entertaining. There are a couple of unplayable maps if you pistol start, but when the mappack has 32 unique maps, it's not much of a burden. I'm interested in seeing TOONS FOR DOOM 1, even if it's supposedly worse.

First third great. Second third so-so, last part sh!t. The steps from very good to terrible is very quick like in a typical movie trilogy. I cannot emphasize enough how much I hated especially last half; didn't even finish it, which I do very rarely. Looking for problems to find keys in EVERY level? Enjoying wandering through already discovered parts for 30 minutes without any progress? Wanting to shoot something with 100% ammo and health but nothing around for ages? Love millions of switches? If answers to these question is yes, search no further; Eternal is just for you. For the rest who wanna play Doom and not Supaplex or The Incredible Machines (games which do in far more enjoyable and better way those things authors of latter parts of Eternal are trying to achieve), look literally anywhere else. It's quite a shame because design (architectonics-wise) even many of latter levels are not bad at all. tl;dr: first third 4.5/5, second 2/5 final 1/5. Play till level 12 or where it breaks and never touch the rest even with long stick.

I've said this before in a review of another WAD and it applies here: Wads are like horror movies in the aspect that there's a good chance you're gonna go through some crappy ones before you get to one that makes it worthwhile waiting for. This is one of those WADs worth going through the crappy ones to get to. The kind that makes you say to yourself, "How is it that I've not played this before!??!" No complaints whatsoever. Had a lot of fun playing this WAD, which is the most important aspect to a me as a gamer. Just good ol' Classic Doom style - on steroids. Great progressive challenge. Not a slaughterfest by any means, but will keep your trigger finger and strafing skills busy. Well done! Definite replay value. Thanks for creating it! :) Solid 5 out of 5 Stars.

STAR WARS for DOOM2!!! Whoopee!!! This is a totally complete, runnable version for DOOM2 that combines the best of EVERY Star Wars related ".wad" ever made into one, runnable version. As well as combining bits from unaccountable wads, (Matt Falk's 4 levels for DOOM1 are still there, along with splices of SWGFX8, SWMUSFX4, STWARGFX, SW for DOOM2, a Vader hack, a Boba Fett hack, etc., etc., etc...) I have also added *5* new wads: Endor, Hoth, Tatooine, The Emperor's Throne Room and the Grand Hall (at the end of the first movie, where the celebration took place.) All of them are strictly based on a combination of the trilogy, kenner toys and the LucasArts games. I have also added countless little extra items, (Inanimate TIE Interceptors, Snow Speeders, IG-88s, Tiderium class Shuttles, Millenium Falcon, etc.) pictures, and a few extra things, just for show. The latter wads that I created are not only designed for realism, but are also designed to bring some of the most interesting solo and, moreover, multi-player experience. -
I played this megawad a lot, really, maybe too much, like five times in a row while helping Datacore vanilla-fying his work and while making a custom dehacked patch for him. Anyway, this mapset is really enjoyable, and one of the few complete Ultimate Doom megawads out there. The first episode is kinda cramped and with a slow progress, but midway around episode two Datacore start to make the maps a little more bigger, making them a lot easier to navigate. Episode 3 and 4 are the best of the whole set. The maps are short, easy and really abstract in nature, with the right challenge, but a little too saturated of spongy monsters sometimes, so it become tiresome if you play complete episodes on one sit as they are a little too linear. I like the story that i wrote for this mapset, its not marvelous at all, but i always liked the idea of a mentally damaged and traumatized soldier fighting his inner demons. Maybe i love the movie Jacob's Ladder a bit too much hahaha. Protip: The names of the maps of the fourth episode can be read as a poem when put all together. A little easter egg for those who like trivia and insight on works :) Thank you, @Datacore85, for giving me the oportunity to work with you in this megawad, i only made the dehacked patch, but this was my first contribution to the community and i really enjoyed it ;)
