A few months ago a sect of devil worshippers settled down in your town. There are rumors that they celebrate horrible rituals and even human sacrifices in their castle-like house. But you have not cared much about these rumors, until one day your girl-friend disappears without a trace. You start investigating and find out that the sect had been in need for a virgin sacrifice in order to summon two horrible demon lords straight out of hell. You grab your father's pistol and leave towards the castle to rescue your girl. You enter the house through the ventilation shaft. Just when you start looking around, you hear an unearthly howling. You are too late! Your girl-friend has taken her last breath on the sacrificing altar. The creatures of hell have already arrived in this world. You swear bloody revenge, hoping the two demon lords are late. -

A really impressive (for the time) remake of Duke Nukem E1L1, with new graphics, sounds and music. Lots of great detailing where the explosions hole and the sloped ceiling/floors are, lots of new textures (including the dancing girl movie at the cinema!), small sectors elevators where the jumping sections are and lots of clever ideas and trickery to emulate the Duke Nukem 3D feel at best under the vanilla limitations (even if i've got a small VPO at cinema area)... Great stuff.

A sexy slaughtermap dedicated to a sexy girl. Nina Dobrev 2 figures among my favourite slaughtermaps despite Nina Dobrev 1 was annoying to play. This map has a lot of memorable parts : - The very brutal start where you have to protect yourself from chaingunners by hiding behind a mancubus - The big castle courtyard where a very brutal fight happens. - The cute tree near the end surrounded by very viciously hidden arch-viles. A more detailed review here (in french) : http://doomfrance.forumactif.com/t3832p25-boom-eternal-slumber-party My demo on UV :DEMO

A reader skimming the Doomworld Files listing might be taken for a ride. March 8, 2013. WadEd??!! AOL???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rest assured, reader, you're not in an alternate universe; this wad is squarely of '90s vintage (1997 if we trust the timestamp), with its submission to the archvies delayed for an epoch, as often happens. It is one of those wads that replaces some of the sounds simply because that was a cool thing to do. Pinkies chomp at you like they have robot teeth. Weapons have a Star Wars "retro future" feel to them. Lost souls squeal like demented young girls. The map is a tangle of hallways and paths that crisscross, dressed in austere visuals. Progression doesn't grant a wealth of options, but it feels intricate nonetheless because of the map's consistent unfolding and unraveling. What quickly stands out about the combat is how relentlessly trappy it plays out. Not in the newschool sense of "staged key fights" but of unexpected closets opening up to more closets, of lifts suddenly plunging you into hostile fire, of quick doors that blaze open and expose caged archviles. Patrick Smith is out for blood.

First and foremost, this mod does its job good to an extent. It sets the atmosphere up very well. The fire going out in the beginning is a nice way to start it off and the whole "stuck with nothing but a bow and wit" idea is a good way to execute the gameplay itself. But unfortunately that's as far as positives go. You see, the actual area is so dark that a particular enemy is near impossible to actually see unless you have focus into what exactly you're looking for. Even then, it's a tiny enemy. The one I am referring to is the Creeper. After that obstacle, you have a giant skull that teleports everywhere and a face that will scream nonstop. Unless you're on edge whilst playing this, those will just turn out to be annoying at a point. Then there's the final boss. It flings random shock images at you, ranging from a picture of a clown, to random gore, to the classic picture of the girl from The Exorcist we've all seen plenty of times. Lazy, if anything, considering they're just images with no connection to the actual game whatsoever. TL;DR: Great concept and beginning, poorer execution. Sure is great reaction material for the unaware, though.

I don't like this WAD that much. Despite the fact it throws you to a different universe outside Doom, it's not well made! The levels are maze-like and it makes you often think "Where the hell am I supposed to go?". Maps 9 and 10 had made me open the WAD in GZDoom Builder and check the route and needed keycards. Map 6 even shows a giant arrow on the automap to show where the exit is! Lots of rooms don't have any furniture or any other stuff, like the author was sick of mapping every room in each level, but sometimes it would be nice to see a notable decoration or an object that identifies a room. Military Base looks very domestic. On the other side, it provides some creativity, like going from one floor to another. You're teleporting to a different area of the map, but you think you're on another floor. The enemies are not that hard to kill. They are different zombies, armed people and civilians. There is a girl holding a zombie's head and it bytes you!?? She is probably out of her mind. Since it's made for regular Doom 2, this WAD goes out of realism since everybody is trying to kill you and only you! These civilians are just hanging around zombies and feel safe. So concerns armed people too! What kind of zombie apocalypse is it?? I can assume that policemen are changed because, when you deal enough damage, they became blue and bloody, like they are walking deads with pistols. But what's wrong with other people? Why they are not being attacked by zombies unless provoked? Also civilians roar like a cyberdemon when they spot you - that's confusing. Blue cops sometimes drop a rifle, but they are not armed with it. Looks like these are layouts from Doom 2, and they are actually sergants from Doom, but with changed sprites. BTW, there are also boxes which you can move by shooting them and block a pass for zombies. Unfortunately, they are almost useless. Sniper rifle acts like a shotgun. Bazooka is weak: it kills 2-3 zombies at best and sometimes can't kill a human. Why not provide less rockets, but make every shot more effective? Also there are no digging animations. I know it was made in 1997, but the overall quality is low. P.S: I wish there would be a decent zombie apocalypse WAD since you can put friendly bots, cutscenes and dialogs in a WAD.

A failed attempt on speed mapping for a.s.s. vol 5, googling around for searching about this killing colours thing, it appears the girl showed in this wad walls. In the end, it resulted a nuts.wad clone with some killer colours concept in it (i mean the level from alien vendetta), but i miserabily failed. -

I thought AOL Girls were all balding men pretending to be 16/F/NYC? Anyway...just another standard WAD from the Clinton era. I give it one star for the apparently deliberate HOM effect in one of the halls - well played! Another star is added for the pinup art. But at day's end, it's Just Another WAD. No further stars are warranted.

After fighting off the throngs of hell and kicking major ass, you wonder if it's actually over. You are _the_ man of the world, girls want to have your baby, you could run for president, so forth. Still you wonder if some Hell spawn might have survived. A year has passed, and you have heard rumors about a secret base in the South American Andes. These rumors subsided, and it was forgotten. But then, in a small country in South America, mysterious troops brutally put down a huge revolt that should have been all too successful. The government had no major defenses and inferior weapons. Pictures coming back from the showed what looked like normal troops. But you knew better. Those soldiers were the same soldiers you killed more than a year ago. You use your well-earned clout to get stationed close to the area. You gather info on the troops and you discover that it's all tied to the secret base in the mountains. Your curiosity gets the best of you and you head out on a scouting mission. All you pack is your trusty pistol as you head out. You easily find a way into the base and you see that it is run by the same company that started this whole mess. You see gigantic cages, vats, pits, and most of all, DEMON SPAWN!! You almost crap in your pants when you see all the Hellians that they had. They must have cloned them all from the bloody mess you had made out of them. The UAC had been allowed to respawn all the demented things that you had worked so hard to destroy! You rush back down the mountain to see if you can use your fame to stop the UAC from making the same mistake they did more than a year ago. In your haste, you fail to notice a UAC patrol coming up on your side. You hear a former human shout, "FREEZE OR...", and you shoot him down in mid-sentence. It is then that you here the launch of a missle in the air and the stunning scream of a pissed CyberDemon. You turn only to look into the barrel of several chainguns, shotguns, and rifles. The last thing you remember is wondering how the UAC could control these beings as CyberDemon knocks you out cold. You're now in some sort of holding cell. Fortunatly, your guard is a former human. You take him out as soon as you wake up. Now, your mission is clear. Wipe out the base and any chance that the demons might come back. Hopefully they also respawned all the weapons and artifacts that you found while fighting in Hell and on Earth. Hopefully they don't know you've broken out. Hopefully I can type fast. -

As I played this wad by an 11-year-old child I felt slightly dirty, because I am almost thirty years old. Kelly can be a boy's name or a girl's name, but either way I did not feel comfortably playing this wad. Although that is not to say that I did not enjoy the experience. The wad itself is very short and although it works the textures and theme are all over the place. It's fun for the three minutes it takes to finish (whilst listening to "Love Lasts Forever" by Kissing the Pink).

This map isn't too interesting. It looks quite avarage with some silver and tech-textures, the monsters are all very easy, and I didn't even need the rockets and plasma at all. Gameplay isn't good neither. It's mostly running through hallways, accessible through unidentificable doors and looking for switches. The secrets are two rooms with half-naked girls on the walls, which I found very boring. 1.5/5 -Milian
