    Alando Guns X

Alandoguns made another weapons mod Yaaay, AlandoGunsX uhh.. it has several classes that have different starting weapons, but some of the classes have shitty voice acting.. I'll just choose the class that has the most normal sounds. Oh. It has weapon slots that only allow one weapon. Forcing you to swap weapons by dropping one on the ground when you pick another one up.

This is exactly what the title says. Since it's too long, I renamed it to "Doomguy 2000 Challenge!!!!!". The hardest difficulty ever is when you go up against me in combat. This intense challenge is only reserved for the very best players around the world since noobs will get destroyed in seconds. To make this difficulty somewhat playable, I added another player class like it's not going to be much helpful anyways.

    Hellbound

I'm breaking up with Valiant to start my new love with Hellbound. Best DOOM mapset that has been made. I have replayed it more than once with Brutal DOOM Platinum and Final Doomer(Hellboundguy class) and I still can't get tired of it. Cities, hellish maps, tech bases, I just love it. I also really like the combination of E2M1, E2M2 and E2M3 in Map19. Amazing stuff right there, I strongly recommend this

    The NEW DOOM v1.0

    Version

    880 downloads

HI!! after about 34 months of hard work and late nights up at the computer, our levels for THE NEW DOOM! are finally finished! We have named it THE NEW DOOM because we replaced all of the OLD DOOM! We hope you like these levels, because I have had to get a thicker glasses perscription twice this year from all the late nights with no rest. Our grades have also dropped approximately two letters each class because of the work we put into this. Anyway, let's not use this whole thing for our personal live. On with the TEXT FILE!!!

    The Leaf Well..

    Version

    7 downloads

Once upon a time there existed an amazing little well know as the Leaf Well. Every Autumn, magical little elves, who lived at the bottom of the well, would start making millions of little autumn leaves, and throw them up out of the well. The leaves would float up and up and up into the sky, scattering themselves all over the land, and covering it in a rich brown Autumn blanket. Only this Autumn, a bunch of greedy warriors decided to go to the top of the well, and steal all the leaves for themselves, thus monopolising the leaf market, and forcing the creatures of the land to pay them gold for the leaves.. The only problem was, the warriors that went to the well to steal the leaves wanted them all for themselves, and so a fight started, and they all started trying to kick the shit out of each other.. there... great story eh? Anyway, the actual level is a standard arena, totally symetrical, with plenty of weapons, mana, and a few artifacts here and there. If you fall down the leaf well in the middle, then you're dead.. As this was made when the editors just came out, it's design is a little limited. No cool Hexen scripts, or rotating/sliding sectors and stuff, just a standard level. It's still fun for deathmatch though, preferably with 3 or 4 players, but 2 will do. I've tried to keep it pretty balanced, with the level not giving an advantage to any class, so it should be pretty even no matter what class you choose.. If you make any cool lmps on this level, or have any flames, comments, or critisms, then send them to me! You can also find me on irc most days.. look for Snail..

    MEGAHEX2.WAD (Fixed bugs in Megahex1.wad)

I've expected much worse from the anonymous 0 votes reviewers, but that vote could be done due to the hatred that the friendly neighbor spider-uploader Perseus had during his time uploading anything he\she\it can put he\she\it's hands up on the archives. At first i think to have played (and give a pretty harsh review on \newstuff review) this map, but it's a pretty similar map sets in a small fortress surrounded by mountains, with many items scattered around without caring of the player classes and adding a big group of monsters in the map just for giving you something to kill that aren't some other nerds on-line in this absolutely intended for Deathmatch map. But this is a fortunately acceptable small map, even kinda fun (expect for a hallway filled of that guys with two heads that i don't remember the name now) in some parts. It's ok.

    Ice Prison (v1.0)

I played this with the fighter on the hardest difficulty and I really enjoyed the challenge. I found that the flechettes really helped since they are the only range weapon the fighter has on this map. However, I opted to not use them as I wanted to challenge myself. The toughest class to play on would likely be the cleric as his flechette is not a range weapon like the fighter's. Unfortunately this map is a cakewalk with the mage which prevents me from rating this any higher. This map may not offer anything incredibly creative or any long adventure but I think this map goes to show that you can create something interesting without having a large/lengthy map, the later weapons or several items.

    Waste Abandonment

Waste Abandonment is a medium sized interconnected level full of challenge that at first feels fair but becomes annoying towards the end of the level. The only fault with this map is how after the blue key is picked up the level turns into a light slaughter map with swarms of light monsters with the occasional revenant and archvile. The only improvement I could think of would to decrease the size of the late level monster swarms and add more mid class enemies like mancubus or cacodemons.

    Beautiful Doom (version 6.2.0)

Phenomenal gameplay mod, keeping the original Doom gameplay intact with added smooth animations and little touches like better looking blood and sound effects that are great to the ears. There's even an added class to use enhanced guns, giving weapons secondary fires such as a kick for the Fists and homing rockets for the Rocket Launcher, though there's always the option to play with vanilla guns if you just want to play with the smooth animations of both the weapons and the enemies. Beautiful Doom makes the original Doom gameplay feel fresh and new as the animations offers great visual flair and the added enhanced guns class is great to go along with them.

My final project for TCS 198 at UC Davis, a class revolving around modding Doom. You start in a strange catacomb, filled with zombies and ghouls. Eventually, you experience some strange sensation, and begin to change... Make sure to play with jumping enabled in GZ Doom.

As you wake up in the morning you ask yourself: "What's going on here? Where am I?" The last thing you can remember is going to bed after a long night of playing DOOM II on your computer. As you open your eyes you slowly realize that you are sitting in a classroom in your school. You think to yourself: "Oh no, did I fall asleep in class again?" You look up from the table and see your teacher writing something on the black board. You wonder:"Oh, he grew a beard. .... on his BACK?" At once you're awake. You notice a shotgun to your right and a big spider outside. "OOOHHH NOOOO, I'M DOOMED." "I have to find a way out of this level!!!"

    HEXELENT

Very good wad, especially for 1995. It does a good job conveying the environments (a mine in the first level and village in the second level) using stock textures, with solid detailing and atmosphere. The first level is a bit biased against the fighter (his 2nd weapon shows up LAST of all the classes' 2nd weapons despite him needing it the most), but after that the balance improves. There are a couple of BS traps, but overall it's pretty fair and fun.

Battle for the sphere of chaos

Kind of silly, actually. It's Hexen in terms of classes/weapons, but everything else is Heretic. Killing D'Sparil with a 4th weapon class of a Hexen character is far too easy - if anything, there is far too much mana in the game (esp. the boss room at the end). Why Hexen textures couldn't have been used instead baffles me.

    ATG VS Humans

    Version

    39 downloads

Two teams duke it out until only one is the winner. Destined to hate eachother because of their differences, the only option seems to be to fight. The ATG team and Human team fight it out in whatever arena you choose. The winner can only be determined when the enemy is dead. Are you ready? In short, this is a class-based wad, that pits ATG VS Humans. This is mainly intended for Team LMS in SkullTag. Wouldn't work too well anywhere else... This doesn't come with it's own mapset; but don't worry! There's plenty out there to choose from so you can play this stunning piece of work. Go, play, frag!

    The Journey ver. 1.1

This levelset more or less incorporates all the best features I am usually looking for in a megawad: balance, reasonable level size, curious and detailed architecture that does not feel overdone. One of the very best in my book! (played with my own rslfuria.zip, Operative class)

Battle for the sphere of chaos

An odd wad in which you play a Hexen class while fighting Heretic monsters in Heretic-textured levels. Surprisingly, it works pretty well, and is an interesting change of pace from either game. It retains Hexen's hub design, although it's not at all puzzley, just a "go and collect 3 items and return to the hub" quest. It's very combat-focused (there's almost 400 enemies in the final level), but unlike some Heretic maps, it doesn't end up feeling like a slog. Perhaps Hexen's weapons are just more powerful than Corvus's. The level design is very good, besides a couple of sore spots (the cramped areas of the lava level, the metal maze in the final level). The boss, D'Sparil, is much easier to kill than he was in Heretic; he probably should've been modded to have a better chance against Hexen's warriors.

STAR WARS for DOOM2!!! Whoopee!!! This is a totally complete, runnable version for DOOM2 that combines the best of EVERY Star Wars related ".wad" ever made into one, runnable version. As well as combining bits from unaccountable wads, (Matt Falk's 4 levels for DOOM1 are still there, along with splices of SWGFX8, SWMUSFX4, STWARGFX, SW for DOOM2, a Vader hack, a Boba Fett hack, etc., etc., etc...) I have also added *5* new wads: Endor, Hoth, Tatooine, The Emperor's Throne Room and the Grand Hall (at the end of the first movie, where the celebration took place.) All of them are strictly based on a combination of the trilogy, kenner toys and the LucasArts games. I have also added countless little extra items, (Inanimate TIE Interceptors, Snow Speeders, IG-88s, Tiderium class Shuttles, Millenium Falcon, etc.) pictures, and a few extra things, just for show. The latter wads that I created are not only designed for realism, but are also designed to bring some of the most interesting solo and, moreover, multi-player experience.

    LOSTTOMB (The Discovery) v. 1.2

"Aah, that hurts!" It hurts indeed, annoying (movie?) sound clip used for player pain, it hurts a lot. This map is not that atrociously bad, actually. Layout is nice and pretty open, and the "throne" room (without a throne) is the best part of the level, but unluckily there's this teleport crazy thing that runs troughs the various sections of the... castle? Tomb? I see more some kind of castle theme here, but i digress, let's return on topic. Ok, there is this teleport travel stuff all around the map that join together the various sections of the map, at the first time it works fine and it's a pretty cool thing, but then things starts to going crazy after you reach the yellow key door (that is, for some reason, hidden from a computer panel and the switch to reach it is hidden too in a alcove that i had to noclip for reach it) and the teleport in the middle of the rooms that randomly spawns you in some random place, and this by touching a complete random teleport line. Wonderful, you don't have the idea. Also, after taking the red key, i've been stuck for quit a long in the already mentioned "throne room" and i had to cheat for finding my way by noclipping almost half of the map. Gameplay is not hard, but... this thing is unforgiving with you. Forget to take the computer map in the cyb's cage? Forgive even to proceed in the damn map! Miss a switch, a teleport line, anything? Game over, man. Also the thing placement looks like is all around the place sometimes, but that's a (really bad) habit of old time maps... Also, is most probably me that i missed out something, but this map have a exit? I didn't find out in any way! Ah yes, the sound effects are mental, this weird ass shit turns you crazy, if not the bad choices with teleport sections didn't it already. Top class. Also, it uses somes of the zombie voices from Eternal Doom (and before that Laura Bayer)? Ok.... In short: a pretty forgettable 1994 map expect for a pair of locations with some of the ugliest sound effects you can ever heard.

    Ghouls vs Humans

A great but troubled mod. If you can find an older version hosted somewhere it's fine, but avoid fan classes like the plague, they're terrible. Caught a lot of flak for "stealing players from Doom" which is ridiculous to anyone with a brain.

Threshold of Pain is a ZDoom episode which attempts to recreate the look and feel of Midway's famous PSX conversion of Doom whilst maintaining the core elements of the PC versions and a level of difficulty PC players would expect. PSX Doom fans will know that ToP gets its name from the final level of PSX Ultimate Doom. Like many others, my first proper Doom experience was on the Playstation, so when fenderc01 released the PSX TC last year I was excited to get to play these levels again, only this time with PC controls! Whilst he did an amazing job, I found it to be way too easy, even on UV setting. This was not fender's fault, merely a testament to the compromises Midway had to make in bringing such a game to a console. ToP attempts to redress the balance whilst maintaining the brooding atmosphere that Midway brought to the game. It is NOT a PSX TC - many features which were missing from the Playstation remain, so expect to encounter the Archvile! In light of the soon-to-be-released Threshold II, this "Special Edition" features graphical enhancements only made possible by recent advances in the GZDoom engine that Threshold II uses, all with the goal of giving the game a more accurate PSX look and feel, and also to aid consistency between the two mods. Also features a swathe of bugfixes that never made the cut the first time around! New features include: Tons of coloured lighting, but nothing too garish. The infamous PSX burning sky, given a ZDoom makeover. PSX/N64 audio. New Weapons - the Minigun and the Unmaker. The PSX Final Doom SSG. A new powerup - the Doomsphere. New monsters - the nightmare class monsters from PSX Doom and Doom64, a handful from the Realm667 Bestiary and ZDCMP, plus a new final boss... A few other PSX/N64-style gameplay tweaks.

    Enigmatic Hell

I saw some terry traps but they were funny as hell. MAP02 was hard, but cute. Some maps were insane, and MAP69 is a terry trap. The first boss in MAP07 (The Finale) was difficult, but if you use the Vitality Class, the first phase is not that hard. Just hide next to the platform thingie, aim up, and shoot. Adjust yourself to stay alive. Save in the 2nd phase, and do the same strategy if possible.

    Hell Revealed

Absolutely mind blowing and fully deserving of its legend status, a class of its own even 18 years after its release. Even the simplistic design works in favor of the experience... may not be your cup of tea, but its quality and influence are undeniable. Solid 5!

Caldera ... 6 level adventure for Hexen

Absolutely fantastic! The special effects are first class, the puzzles are genius and everything there was to love about the original Hexen is even more embellished in this version! One criticism I have, NOT ENOUGH EARTHQUAKES!
