Well, in the Indian Education system, 10th is supposed to be easy, but last year they sent our parents a notification that the ENTIRE COURSE STRUCTURE is gonna change.

Last time, only 40% of the total marks obtained in an exam will be evaluated. The portions are split as well.

*sigh* But this time, 100% of marks are to be taken from exam only. No activities. Therefore, we have to study a WHOLE BOOK at the end.

Sad life...

I actually fixed the WAD but it has a host of problems such as very low FPS for some reason and Doomsday does not support Boom features such as Transfer Sky, which breaks the atmosphere I tried to create in the first map.

Doomsday is a rather inferior port imo, prboom+ or gzdoom are the way to go. If the player uses a port that your map isnt designed for, @DooM_RO then thats not your fault, but the fault of the players.

Coming in somewhat late, but I will -- as usual -- agree with everything @rdwpa said. While I also agree with @40oz that noting a map doesn't work in Doomsday is important info for Doomsday users, I strongly disagree with removing stars from a review just because the reviewer hasn't figured out that Doomsday is the bat-guano of sourceports. Funny thing is that when I came back into Doom, Doomsday was my port of choice for a couple years, but when I got a game-killing error in one of my maps that was not present in any other port, the bloom came off the rose. As time went on, Doomsday's weird, confusing launcher and the way it chugged like crazy caused me to drop it completely. That saddened me, because for awhile it seemed the most attractive of the GL ports.

If someone wants to remain loyal to Doomsday, that's fine, but if they write a review in a world where all sourceports are free, easily obtained and installed, and compared, I think it's at least worthwhile to let them know they should try the map on other ports. I generally test my maps on GZDoom and PrBoom, sometimes Risen3D. I don't test on Doomsday, nor has anyone who ever beta-tested my maps. I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread, because maybe I should include, "Doomsday not recommended" in my write-ups.

I disabled the status reply notifications, because if one of the mediocre status updates I'd commented to - mostly at the beginning - would get popular, my notif folder would just get overwhelmed by information that's fairly irrelevant to me.

Unfortunately, this came at the expense of not getting notified by replies to my status updates aswell. So, if there's any chance anytime one could separate the two... would one of you Administrators mind it?

I think drawing gore and looking at it can be a good therapeutic experience sometimes. I've noticed for example that animal corpses found on the street used to disturb me, but now they almost give me a peaceful feeling. I had one guy on ZDaemon repeatedly call me Spyke. I ended up not correcting him because it took me too long to even realize he was trying to spell my name.

I usually pronounce the usernames in my head real quick, and hey thats sounds fitting :P

I get username mispronunciations too XD (its not catpho getting that treatment tho, i have other names on other sites). Its makes me smile all the time tbh

My old computer would make a constant annoying sound, because of the broken CPU fan. When it started up, I would punch it to stop the noise and it stopped (the fan worked normally after hitting it). Though I had to do that every time I opened the computer. Why isn't it dead yet is beyond my logic.

Also, I had a Windows 98 PC when I was 5 years old, that for some reason was messed up and from one point and afterwards, the screen was like 50 shades of blue (it only had blue colors). I remember moving it once and it restored the original colors, but when I accidentally touched it, it became blue again. That was probably the fault of the GPU or the cable connecting the monitor with the tower. I will never know...

And now my laptop keeps heating up like crazy, but I am out of budget for a laptop cooler. So what do I do? I placed a blue towel under the laptop, so that it doesn't heat the table, which in turn heated the laptop. Now it is somewhat cooler.

My laptop is held together by one screw. It sits on an angle because it constantly overheats. When it does I have to use pressurized air to clean the ventducts. The internal keyboard died a year ago so I use an auxiliary keyboard now. Recently I got disc reading errors and very recently the fan started sounding weird.

I am not certain here, but maybe it is because this laptop is 9 years old.

It is nostalgic, but I grew up with Windows XP.

I sometimes find stuff made before I was born (1988), or never seen/heard before, and yet feel nostalgic. It's always a wonderfully surprising moment.

It really depends on the situation, most of the time I'd help them out, but I could add a "motherfucking" somewhere.

Ahh, I forgot you could speak Russian. Do you live there? I honestly don't know. That's pretty cool that you know two languages, either way. I wish I knew a second language, but I'm pretty horrible with that type of learning. I couldn't even learn basic French.

They say it's easiest to learn languages at a young age. The younger, the better. It's funny because I took French classes until Grade 9, yet I don't remember jack shit for some reason.

Change your DW password to something long and annoying to type in, so that the annoyance of logging in is slightly stronger than the compulsive urge to check DW.  Then log out.

Or better yet, for more layers, change your password to the answer to a puzzle.  maybe use software to generate the answer, or an encrypted version of the answer, but just copy and paste the answer, without memorizing it, into your new password box.

Or, I bet there's some browser plugin that just locks websites for you for a certain amount of time, i dunno.

ps. I just googled and found this: StayFocusd plugin I only skimmed the description but it sounds like what you're looking for (i never used it).  As long as you aren't finding yourself the urge to uninstall the plugin after you start the timer to circumvent the whole thing, then you're fine.  But I wouldn't want to put that idea into your head so I probably shouldn't mention it.

Well guess what. Silly me thought he could trust the internet. The heretical crippling of VLC happened a version before, 2.1.0. I learned this the hard way. So I hopped between 4 different versions, deleted my settings in the process and now my journey peacefully ended at 2.0.8.

Biggest problem with later versions of VLC: speeding up used to have that funny chipmunk effect, but now it just makes the playback faster without changing the pitch. :(((

Doom 64 is certainly an underrated game but all of the people who played the game gave nothing but good reviews.

People do not really like Doom 64, it's all just a huge joke, like the people who pretend to like Barney's Hide and Seek.
